<![CDATA[What body shops do the best work/most expensive?]]>Does any one know which body shops do the best work and which ones are the most expensive? I just found out that North Dakota you need to have 75% damage to make your car totaled. I am hoping that it is, but I guess I really dont know the extent of the damage completley. I have went to Gateway Collision once and they had horrible service, did bad work, and were slow....

I was rear ended at 45mph in my old civic coupe and the frame was bent and the quarter panal was wavy. I was quoted a lil over $2000 from quality and went to progressive and had it fixed for $900... Brian go take a look at aj's civic and you can see there work. it's the passenger quarter panal and the bumper suport.... hopw it's totaled

If the cost to repair the vehicle is 75% or higher of the total vehicles value then they "total" the car.

When i crashed my talon it was considered totaled because the estimate was more then the cars worth.

That did not include any of the stuff messed up under the hood. My wastegate is bent, intercooler leaks, intake and filter broke, electonic boost controller wires cut, fuse box broke, etc......i just told him to to include those oem things yet because they are aftermarket. If i have problems with insurance i will have them put those parts back to stock and that should be enough to total it.

Also, remember, you only need ONE estimate. So only turn in your HIGHEST estimate to your insurence, or they will choose the lowest for you.

if there is no loan on the vehicle it is your choice to do what you want with the vehicle, fix or not fix. so just ask for the $$$. we did this with both my dads old trucks, the one got somewhat sideswiped, we just buffed it and left the dent and got like $1200 and my dads last truck got rear ended on main street and the damage wasnt really noticeable but came to around the 2k mark and he took the cash, and sold the truck. my nieghbor just did the same thing

Made $$$?? Tell me more.. I'm in the process of dealing with an insurnace company w/ an accident that happened in Early Oct. They finally told me that they'd take care of it but wanted an address. I got 3 Estimates right away; Quality, NWest, and a Dealer. Quality was the Most.. North West seemed to be the best of the 3 from what I had noticed.
