<![CDATA[Laptop advice]]>I am going to be getting a laptop for christmas and I was wondering who makes the best quality for the cheapest price laptops? I am looking for a laptop with:

-good size screen with really good quality
-CD/DVD with cd/dvd burner
-ability to play games with good graphics
-wireless internet
-decent amount of storage space

Anything else you guys can think of that would be great thanks.

HP, Compaq, nothing but bad experiences... (yeah you'd think i'd learn after like 3 laptops).

Although I must say, the guy I talked to when I called to cancel my 30 day call in support for $50 was really cool/nice and though I did have some trouble understanding some of what he said, it wasn't that big of a deal and he transfered me to someone who was able to cancel it. whatever you do, get the longest warranty you can that covers the most you can. theres always a good chance that some day in the future youll be carrying it around and something will happen to it. in my experience with dell, its almost a 'no questions asked' kind of policy. it breaks, you call them, they send someone out to pick it up and they fix it fast.

I can testify the older ones build quality were top notch before IBM was sold to Lenovo. a much more solid build, compared to my new dell, which was replaced by dell as the first one had a mess of problems, the first week of ownership.

I do agree with Dell being a good choice if nothing else, because of their warranty and customer service. But as far as build quality, there is alot of things shared across the board. I actually had a computer replaced with a differant one cause of problems, they didnt even question it and were like you can pic any laptop up to 1500.

I have had 3 latops. A Compaq back like 4years ago, had nothing but problems. A HP no problems, just stupid viruses. I now have a Toshiba.

I email them that I need something, they email me back saying that a part will be shipped out and someone will call me tomorrow to fix it, or if I want, I just do it myself.
