I know most shops wont put them in because of the risk but if you could do it yourself what would be the best way of going about it? Maybe an ebrake check before it fires?</p>
<p dir="auto">I'm talking a regular autostart. I know they make them for manuals now too. And what is different with those opposed to the regular?</p>

If it would take you 6 hours to install it (ignoring the cost of the system itself) and you make $10/hr at your job and someone else offered to install it for $59 labor it'd still make economic sense to have them install it.</p>

If not, I wouldn't attempt any remote starter, let alone trying to put one in a manual.  They can be tricky and as other before me have posted....its ok if its you're own car and you know exactly what you're doing, but even now I will not do them anymore or customers.  I had a guy run his truck into his deck and crawl up the side of his house because he forgot it was in gear....THANK GOD FOR THE "I'M NOT LIABLE" CONTRACT!</p>

You pull the ebrake, and it stays running until you get out and shut the door.  Then it shuts off and locks the doors. If you don't set the ebrake, or you open the doors after it's armed,  it won't let you start the car with the remote.</p>
