<![CDATA[Dog Question]]>I have a golden retriever thats about 3 months old. The problem is that she keeps on wanting to bite people. How should I go about getting her to stop.

puppies will bite and chew i have a ton of toys for my dog and i have used lemon juice and bitter apple spraying it on the things she chewed on and also in her mouth (with lemon juice) when she does things wrong even if you don't catch the dog in the act take her rub her nose in what she got into then give her a shot of lemon juice in the mouth....

i've also spanked her mouth when she bites me and sternly said no biting when she bite me during play she has learned not to....

if she got into something really bad she got a spanking....

just like teenagers a dog will always have to be reminded who's boss every once and a while it's not just puppy stage

I have heard/tried that but they said hold it till they wimper.

They hate that, but they also learn. That's how I got my puppy to stop biting(8 months old now, black lab). It does take awhile before they start to learn, but they will learn...

I doubt she'll continue for too long.

young dogs are like young children, they don;t know the rules and they never sit still. It's up to you to teach them right and wrong.
