So i haven't been on here in awhile, I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with the console shutting off in the middle of a game(without RRoD), like its a power surge? i have tried different outlets and messed around alittle. Any suggestions?

Most likely a broken solder joint in the BGA.
The motherboard flexes when it gets hot, which will cause a disconnect, and then once it cools down will re seat itself.
You will most likely see the red lights again after a while, or will start to notice wierd freezing issues and such.
