    i have no idea..i dont live in the UK or know if they acually use it. All i know is that its used now as cell phone ringers so teachers dont hear kids texting/calling...kinda funny

      i heard it, my mom could 2 feet away but not farther and my dad couldnt hear it.

        I couldn't hear shit. Well a little bit. I vaguely heard a flutter and a high pitch when I cranked it but nothing that I would consider annoying. It's my old ass. I can't hear like I used to I guess.

          i couldnt hear it unless my ear was like an inch from my speakers but it could be my speakers are crap

                    Funny stuff.

                    Keep in mind, some of this depends on your sound card/hardware and speakers. It may cut it out entirely, or it may resynthesize it to a lower frequency or something (this is what I have heard).

                    Using quality audio equipment, I determined a month ago or so that I can still hear 17khz sounds, but not 18khz anymore. Kind of explains why I can't tell if the television is on or not when it's sitting there with a blank screen anymore.

                      yeah that was all over the news last week... one of the programs cranked up the vol. on it so everyone could hear man that is anoying... I can't hear it at normal vol. but when cranked up on tv i could
