no offense but i would roll a mountain bike or something. i've ridden one of those before and they arent exactly easy to pedal if you weigh more than average

They are not going to be a quality bike for you. If you are serious about needing exercise then I would get something a little more adequate.

Bianchi makes some decent priced bikes at a fair value, also check out Specialized, as they have some quirky things comming out for old 😉 guys like you for 07'. Something like that you sit in your garage or house and look at. You will be very uncomfortable riding the damn thing. And I am assuming the quality is garbage. Almost offended looking at that thing. Think APC or RACTIVE, in car terminology.
With bikes you get what you pay for generally.

A Quality chopper is not bad for a bar to bar kind of riding bike, closer to the ground when you pass out and crash.
                    EDIT:

This would be atleast a better quality Bicycle for the somewhat style of bike you want.

OK.... Before this gets outa hand. I just want a little g-ride to pedal around in. It's not like I'm going to "Take her off any sweet jumps" or anything. And exercise is NOT my #1 priority nor is the ultimate comfort. Quality isn't of the upmost importance either. My kids and I just want to hang out when I'm not busy at work or Ricing out in the jellybean. The exercise part is just a little bonus. I think the bikes I'm in the market for are cool in a "VATO-LOCO" sorta way. I have an old school Hutch Trickstar to cruise in if the upmost quality is what I'm after. But I really don't want to ride that and put a mark on it cuz it's still as it was the day I bought it so this is what I'm after.

why not just build one if its just something to putz around on? I think it would be a lot more meaningful to you/your son if u built it together. I know when i was that age, if my dad ever wanted to do something like that with me, i wouldve thought he was the shit! But then again Wes, you are the shit!

Shops usually carry what there is a market for. One person in a city is not a market, not flaming on you. The type of bike you are talking about is not a practical bicycle.
