Hey guys I am looking at using my current 2000 civic ex as a daily driver. I was wondering what 1/4 mile times you guys are running as I am looking for a project car and what would be the fast. Opinions accepted. But I would really just like the times and what kind of cars. Thanks much

I wouldn't really go by other people's 1/4 mile times to pick a project car for yourself. Just look around and pick something that YOU like. Then worry about the 1/4 mile and shit like that later.

I can't afford what I like. Right now I love my civic. It's just that the torque converter sucks. I dont know if replacing that will fix the no launch effect or not. My original plan was to swap in a b16 with manual and boost it. Now I am not sure because the handling on my civic sucks. I can barely turn a corner at 35.

the reason you cant turn is because you have stock suspension and crappy tires. get some decent coilovers and a set of wheels/tires and it will handle pretty good. Now with the motor and your torque converter, the reason it is slow is because it is an auto and honda sucks at auto trannies. so just swap in a manual tranny and it will be alot quicker then it is now.

Wider/lighter rims and performace tires made the biggest difference to me when I was doing suspension mods.

              They call me, old man...

why not swap the tranny and boost the d16y8? they make good power and it can be had cheap.

Unless you can do it yourself, just sell your car and buy a manual to start out with...
