I honestly believe that they should change laws (which many states sort of are) so that you are tried as an adult above the age of 16 and, depending on the type of crime, younger. The "they are kids they didn't know any better" line is 100% bullshit. I would have known at the age of 12 easily that lighting a turtle on fire with gasoline or anything like that is bad, and i'm sure most of you would too. Obviously they dont deserve the death penalty for it but they don't deserve a slap on the wrist either.

So you served time for killing an animal? I do not see what the big fuss is, I feel bad for the turtle but by no means think the kids should sit in jail. There are alot more serious crimes out there than lighting a turtle on fire that more that likely survived. You guys have nothing better to do than complain about stupid shit like this. You people bug me. We have much worse things to worry about. Give them a stiff fine and some community service and call it good. But no, we will sit and waste court time, money, judges, etc and the guys will probably get the same thing in the end. We have jackasses like Rodriguez who rape and kill people, but fuckers are worried about a fair trial for him??? HAH. These guys put some flame to a turtle and deserve death? The turtle gods will seek revenge, leave it to them!!

Who's to say that these same kids wont grow into the same people that do the very things that you say need attention?
