So, who all reserved the Wii today? Got ours reserved. Wanted the PS3 too but by the time Nancy made it over to the store the other day they were all reserved already. So, Ill just Wii it up instead!

I did see the videos of ppl using the wiimote on wii.com and I gotta admit, that looks like a good time. Of course i'm all about looking goofy playing video games (DDR, Guitar Hero, etc.).
I really don't know why some ppl have to pick one system and hate on the other ones. One of my friends absolutley swears by the ps3 and completely hates the 360, saying how the graphics suck and the control is bad and so on. Funny thing is, I have a 360 and the graphics don't suck at all, actually they are damned good on my HDtv, and I really like the controls, and I'm not sure he's even played a 360 before.
But he's all about the $600 console that isn't even out yet and he doesn't have a TV for. I'm sure the PS3 will be spectacular and worth the money. If it is, I'll buy one. I'ma buy a Wii too, that shit looks like fun. None of the next gen consoles suck by any means, they all kick the crap out of the last gen. Fanboys.. meh

They are starting at $250 for just the counsel. Gamestop I believe has 3 packages to choose from. The basic. One with a 512 mb sd card and controls. And the $400 one with all the extras you need. Ill still be buying enough controls for at least 2 players and I have all my Gamecube stuff still.
Nintendo, as usual, is trying to revolutionize the gaming industry. The whole thing has gone down the last few years. Not as many people play and the number one reason is it is too hard to control. Second one is affordabiltiy. Hense why they decided on an easy to use system that makes you get envolved instead of trying to figure out which buttons to use.
I too have preferences and all systems have had their pros and cons. We'll see how all them do after a few years. Way too early to judge.

Extra buttons are nothing. I think we've all gotten used to the multibutton controllers by now, at least I hope so. I just know that when I play the old games with a d pad and 2-4 buttons I get my ass handed to me. It's like my other fingers that aren't doing anything don't know what to do and it confuses the other two that are doing something, it's so simple it's hard again. Then again maybe it's just me.
