OK, so the only time I made it to the track after the 5-speed swap I was cutting 2.4-2.5 60fts. Obviously, there is some room for improvement there so I would like to get some better tires for my stock 15 inch rims. I've been looking at BFG g-Force drag radials as these seem to be a good tire with good reviews. I'm wondering if there would be worth it to run these 205/50R/15 tires on my 15 x 6.5 rims (stock tire is 195/265R/15)? For about $250 mounted, would this be a good bang for my buck tire for next summer?

Do it. Drag radials FTW! I have heard good things about the BFGs. They are supposed to be comparable to the MTs.

Is 205 too narrow? Would it be practical to put them on the 6.5 inch wide stockers?

They would fit on there just fine. The tread width on those is 8" and you have a 6.5" wheel.

I have had good luck with my BF Goodrich Drag Radials. I would purchase another set when I wear these out. You'd be able to knock off a good amount from your 60 ft.
