Yup, supra is the way to go for drag racing no doubt. Talk to DaveH on here if you want to know how to make it go REALLY fast. Also, I hear Fallguy is supposed to know a little about making power w/ a supra motor...

1st Generation Eclipse GSX's are great drag cars. IMO the others are "wrong wheel drive" (front wheel drive). Not that you can't make them fast, there are plenty fast FWD cars in the F-M area (Fallguys old setup, Kevins gold hatch, Nick Thompsons integra, just to name a few) but RWD/AWD is the way to go for straight line speed in my opinion.

Record for rwhp on a stock bottom end 2JZ was 1017. My friend Chris made 991 on his w/ a GT47 and C16 tune...and fouling his spark plugs every 2 runs, haha!

Got any pics of your old Supra? I might have seen it at some of the ATL meets over the past few years. Also, where at in Atlanta are you from? Most of my friends are in the Roswell/Marietta area.
