Ok, I played for a while over the weekend. To me it is nothing more than the same game w/ new weapons and maps (and graphics). Got bored and went back to EQ2 which is probably the best sequel game I've ever played. Too bad it launched the same day as Halo2, it is a MUCH more complex game than halo will ever dream of being. Sorry.

The AI is incredible, the best AI I have ever seen in any FPS - they will pin you down, break windows and gas you out at later levels, lure you into traps, pretty amazing stuff. If you like FPS games, this IS the game to have. Half life and Valve are the premier designers of FPS game engines, virtually most engines designed for roughly 60-70% of the FPS games out there use HL engine/technology. Now with source there will be more as it is extremely potent and easily modified with their useful SDK tools. I plan on doing a mod and am looking for any local programming talent who would be interested in making a mod and perhaps marketing it (wouldn't be a lot of money - just advertisement from sponsors off the websites) just an idea for now. Vampire Masquerade 2 is already coming out using this engine. Let me repeat myself.......BUY THIS GAME!

Anybody else have to wait like an hour or two to "unlock" the half-life 2 files? What the fuck is that?

i played half-life. wasn't a real fan of hte graphics and what i remember it from, was to laggy.
