It was a grim day

as far as the damage, do you think its repairable?
-
plead not guilty....theres no way they can prove you were driving stupid..unless there was a witness saying you did....which you didnt state there was.
as far as damage....the rear 1/4 is pretty messed up and krinkled and everything else....they'll probably total it out.

Even though other cars on the road were traveling the same speed as you does not mean that you weren't going too fast for conditions based on your vehicle/driving skills.
As for what to plead, hard to say. Not guilty will at least get you the chance to plead your case. Guilty pretty much puts you at the mercy of the court.
Even though I think you are going to be found guilty, I think that by showing up and testifying you have a better chance of having the charges reduced, or perhaps even dropped.

yes, but there could be alot of different scenario's as to why the other cars didnt slide and his did....could be shitty tires, he was driving a different path as them, or just plain bad luck...
most ppl dont get tickets after being in an accident in winter.
-
man thats some shitty luck kenn. i dont belive that it matters that there was many different scenarios as to why he crashed and the other cars didnt, becuase the judge is just going to be seeing that you did crash and the others didnt. i agree with tjamz on this one, and just show up and tell the judge exactly what happened, when i went in the ditch last winter i had to go to court also, i told the judge what had happend and he reduced the fine by like half. good luck on whatever you decied on doing, and i hope your insurence company hooks you up.

And of those listed, only bad luck will get you out of the ticket.
Shitty tires=Faulty equipment, a ticketable offense.
Different path=failure to properly negotiate the conditions (aka, driving beyond your capabilities) again, ticketable. -
should i bring my girlfriend and sister as witness?
-
btw thanks for all the help guys. what does totaled out mean? If its repairable, im thinking of changing the paint on it and maybe adding a mugen front lip. eh if not time for a different car. What makes me so mad was that I wasnt driving reckless and I completely lost control of my car even when i tried to save it.
-
You can get the court date changed till summer if you tell them you are gonna be gone for school, that will give you time to decide what to do....i put a ticket off like 4 times and they finally gave up on it and i never paid.....otherwise do a plea agreement with the prosecutor to lower the fine or keep it off your record as a moving violation which hurts insurance more.
Or you can plead no contest where you aren't admitting guilt but you aren't going to fight it either....i would do one of those...good luck.

Odds are when he goes to court the cop that gave him the ticket wont even show up...and he'll get out of the ticket.

If the Ins. Company totaled it out then they'd basically be writing you a check for what THEY believe your car is worth (they'll try get that amount as low as possible) and then take your car. You can buy it back for dirt cheap usually but good luck trying to sell it for a decent price in the future.

damn kenn, that sucks completely. It looks like it will be a nearly total loss on the car. Only way to know is to get a full estimate from a body shop. your insurance company will look at it too and determine a value. if you are lucky, they will wanna repair it (looking at pics, that is going to be a very high dollar amount) and you have the option of taking a settlement check minus the deductable. Take the money and part out the car. You can get a shit load of cash for all those parts.
as for the court stuff, that is a tough one from me due to not having any experience there. sounds like there is plenty of others on here who have delt with it too. Id go with trying to get the date moved due to being at school so far away. appear on the date, tell your story and plea no contest. it is your fault as you are in complete control of the vehicle. if other vehicles were involved with the accident, then there are other factors. you are ultimately responsible on this one. your insurance will help you out a lot. that is what they are there for. lmk what happens k. just so you know, you can get $3-4K for that motor and tranny combo easily.
edit: just looked up KBB for ya and book is approx $10.4K just hope the damage isn't over that. my accident in the civic was valued at $3400 and the cars value was the same. took a day for them to determine to fix it or not. the desided too late as i had just bought the RSX and i took a settlement check instead. got to keep the car too.

if you hit a car/fence/curb/etc etc your dicked. its failure to have your vehicle under control, written at the officer's discretion. done deal.
