I doubt he get it dirt cheap. I tryed buying my car back the other person/persons wanted badder then me. Which is always how it goes.you always have the option of buying the car back before it goes to auction.. you just have to pay the reserve.

You can get the court date changed till summer if you tell them you are gonna be gone for school, that will give you time to decide what to do....i put a ticket off like 4 times and they finally gave up on it and i never paid.....otherwise do a plea agreement with the prosecutor to lower the fine or keep it off your record as a moving violation which hurts insurance more.Or you can plead no contest where you aren't admitting guilt but you aren't going to fight it either....i would do one of those...good luck.
in minnesota, you are only allowed to change the court date once.... this i know... -
when i change court date, do they ask for what would work best for me? or is it completely at their discretion.
question 2: if to repair the car is worth over 10400 (kelly blue book value), then the most I could possibly get back would be 10400 and have to sell my car? If that happens, then I can buy my car back for a discounted price? if i buy the car back, then I can part out the car right. Just making sure i got this all straight...im pretty tired and I cant think straight.
-
dont know on the court date.
if the car is totalled the well ussually offer you $X and they take your car and do what ever with it. O else they well give you $Z and you can keep the car.
for instance 10k and they take the car or 7k and you keep the car and you can do what ever you wish with the car.

hmm so its a matter of if the cost difference between keeping and parting out is greater than selling it to the insurance company for their price

hmm so its a matter of if the cost difference between keeping and parting out is greater than selling it to the insurance company for their pricepretty close. but that is all at their decision as in my instance when the cost to repair the civic was nearly greater than book yet they decided to "fix" instead of total it out. only option is to go and get a few estimates and then bring to your insurance company. Do you have State Farm? if so, they will take really good care of you. It took only a day to get things done and over with for me. Accident on Monday after work, contacted insurance company. Brought to insurance company after making an appointment with them on Tuesday and made 3 stops to get body shop estimates before the insurance company looked at it. Found the RSX around 2:00pm that Tues and bought it around 4:00, insurance got back to me around 4:30 and I took a settlement check.

they might as well give him a speeding, and no seatbelt ticket then too since they can give tickets without them knowing what happened. It seems that you're just not getting it. He WAS "not it control of his vehicle", that's why he hit something. The cops know this. He could contest that he was in control, but that would open a whole new case as to why he hit something. They DON'T know if he was speeding or wearing a seat belt, so those ticket don't apply.

FWIW, if you do decide to fight the ticket, I'd suggest using whatever lawyer 97slowgsx uses, I hear he can get you out of almost anything........

found out the damage is 5000 dollars. so it probably gonna be repaired.
also found out that i have 3 tickets in one so I have to appear for this. In your opinion, should i plead no contest or guilty?

Thats it??? wow, my little rear end was nearly $2300 and all that got replaced was the rear bumper on my car. exhaust was "repaired" and unsatisfactory. should have been replaced but got a settlement check out of it instead....now got a Xbox 360 instead of replacing exhaust!

wow when my civic was hit it was 5500 to get it fixed. as for the plea thing i have no idea.
-
plead not guilty. At least then you have a chance to make your statement and perhaps get a couple of the charges dropped.
-
for that estimate, where did you bring it? how many places did you go? I went to Abra (now luther valley body shop) Quality and Savajose (can't spell his last name). All three were pretty close but Abra was highest and both them and Quality wanted a "tear down" to get full damage reported.
-
i went to larrys auto. my mom knows the guy there so the quote is cheap. I almost want a different car haha...
-
then take it elsewhere for an estimate as well if you want a new car.

"they know the real truth...they've seen the text messages"
right chuck?:icon_cheers:
give it up.....its old news.
And ethan i completely understand....i'm just stating that you cant get a ticket for something when no one was there to see what happened.

I understand your attorney is good.
-
I did see the text message (right before Perfect 10 2005), shortly after you were initially charged.

Right

You are as innocent as OJ in MY opinion
-
Sure you can, thats like saying if you hit and kill a pedestrian and noone sees it, but there is a dent in your car and blood on your car that you can't be found guilty....enough of the analogies, if you hit a pole you were either driving beyond your control or intentionally aiming for it....both of which are subject to a ticket or fine, personally, I'd rather have the driving beyond my control ticket, the other would be vandalizing and may carry a stiffer fine.

You will still pay for the comment you made about my kid during our last argument.
