ok, I have a question for all you guys...I know how to adjust my AFR using a wideband w/o a dyno, how do you know how much to advance/retard your timing? I have a datalogger that logs just about every/all parameters....which ones should I be concerned with?

Timing, AFR, knock. That would be the best to log. With timing, um, in a nutshell, max timing without knock. 🆒

I'd try to see what timing works best for other people w/ your type of setup. I know a lot of the DSM guys are going for the most boost possible, and little timing, at least on pump gas anyways.

Pump gas is for girls. 😛 jk. But yeah, ask around and see what others typically run it will help you get a baseline of what you should be around. Most cars will be around the same peak advance. I was running around 17 at peak torque and then it ramps up to around 22 at 8500rpm. That was with 30-35psi and C-16. But you have a subie, probably explode at those settings, heh 😉

I think mine is set currently at around 17 to 25 advance...with 25 psi (C16)

not quite where you're at, but not shabby...

Ok, finally got the toys installed, a BIG thanks to Tintmasters for the really good deal I got on them and also to Caleb @ Type-R Motorsports for doing the installation. Header seemed to make the exhaust note a little deeper but fortunately not much louder. Spool time has been reduced...now time to start planning the next toys....any suggestions? (And please, no cosmetic shit, I'm only interested in performance mods)

I was thinking port/polish the heads, install JUN cams and valvetrain, tumbler valve delete, rods & pistons, and maybe some HP in a bottle...then maybe a bigger turbo

Well, IF I do that stuff, it will def be all at once, don't wanna tear the damn thing apart twice.

Oh, and Kirk, this has nothing to do w/ me wanting to be faster than you....never has been the reason I choose to mod.
