One dead, one hurt in north Fargo crash

One person was killed and another injured in a one-vehicle crash in north Fargo on Saturday morning.

Police responded to a report shortly before 7:30 a.m. that a vehicle had struck a tree at the 200 block of 35th Avenue North.

Jesse J. Brainerd, 19, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

A 16-year-old female from West Fargo was trapped in the vehicle, requiring Fargo Fire Department personnel to free her.

She was transported to MeritCare Hospital for multiple injuries. Her condition is unknown.

Officials are investigating the accident. Police have not released the identity of the injured female.

watch what you say son, maybe you dont know Jesse as much as you think you do, not making excuses at all for what happened here, but odds are you dont know him, so let the dead rest in peace. He will be missed by those of us that knew him.

i knew jesse from a fews years back, he was always the annoying kid that tried to hang out with me and my buddies, i sorta regret some of the things i said to him

he was a nice kid with good intentions, he may have got into some bad things but still a good person

in a time of death its better to remember the good things and not their flaws, if not out of kindness atleast out of respect. no decent person deserves their life to be snuffed out so early

My wife knew Jesse and some of his friends. She was really really depressed last night after hearing about the accident. But from what she tells me, he wasn't driving.

I went to school with the 16yr old from west fargo. Her names Becca. I wont post her last name cuz its unnecessary. She is a really cool girl. I talked to her almost every day in study hall. Too bad that it happened. I didnt know Jesse Brainerd but have heard he's pretty cool. And no the Becca does not have to have her legs amputated. She is in critical condition and possibly paralyzed. There not sure yet.

Just to let anyone who knew Jesse there will be a Prayer Service tonight at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Its the one down town just north of the civic center down town. It begins at 7pm.

The true story is she broke every bone in both her legs because the dash crushed them, she is not paralyzed though.

Yea it is terribly sad that they got into such a terrible crash and i hope their families are doing ok. On another note HE WAS DRUNK! How do i know this....my sister is best friends with the girl and says she has talked to her already. Yea maybe she shouldnt of got in the car but then why did she let him get behind the wheel. I dont know. My feeling are that when someone gets behind the wheel drunk they are putting my life and others in danger. What if that was Me and my daughters instead of that tree...... or hando with his little guy.
Again i will say i have mixed feelings bout this situation, but i do feel bad for his family for what he is going through.(Even if i dont know him) On the other hand i have no sympathy for his decision that led to this accident.
Now guys i am not trying to come across as an asshole but put yourself in my shoes if you have a family of your own with little kids. How would you feel if a drunk hits your car with your family with you and hurts or worse kills a family member of yours. On a final note......** Guys please dont get into a car if you have been drinking.**

My uncle was working for FFD that day and went on the call and he said that Her pelvis and both legs were really messed up.he said she would be lucky if she could keep her legs

i saw a video of the wreck and was wondering if the car was in two pieces because it hit the tree or because they had to take the front off to use the jaws of life?

It was cause the hit the tree and split the car
