wow, after reading this thread I realized I know alot about cars. Btw, Jim what did your car trap at on the 14.2, I thought you said 103 or 106 when I first met you.
It takes years to get a real good understanding on how cars work and performance. So devin quit rippin on My Nova, b/c you just asked if slicks reduce engine torque.

Well, heres the thing. The first time that I went to the track, my turbo was in good condition, but I didn't have anything but 14" rims + really worn out tires, so I couldn't do anything but spin. I was trapping i think it was 104mph.
Then after an entire summer of racing, I was able to burrow nick tufte's old worn out drag radials and get some traction, at which point I had my best 1/4 mile time, but my lowest trap speed.
Does that make sense? My turbo wasn't as good as when I first started and got my best trap speed, but I got my best time b/c I got traction.

Yeah it does actually. The 14" rims+tires where probably lighter and smaller diameter than the slicks. The 60' advantage the slicks provide become a hinderance at higher speeds because of the affect on gearing due to wider diameter.

i dont understate what ur saying when did i ask if slick reduces torque?hmmmm...
i said that i have a exhuast leak and if that is y i have no low end torque... -

I have a great idea, I think that spoolude should stop giving Nova shit about the race, he has made his point many times on other threads besides this one. Plus violence doesn't solve anything.

He does make a point.... Now if it was a Naturally Aspirated Eclipse; ya they are slow.. 16/17second cars.... All 420A engines don't really produce much for HP.. 150 or so maybe? Prolly less.. No timing enhancement just a dual cam. In fact some of the eclipses come single cam too..

Gravedigger, I think you forget that I make 250hp on a heatsoaked intercooler, to the wheels.
