The generation of kids that have grown up with the internet seem to do poorly on standard spelling/grammar issues, but even so, they're generally understandable. One wonders just how important the superfluous details of our language are if they can be so resoundingly ignored yet communicating remains possible.
The biggest grammatical travesty that I feel does significantly impact readability, and thus effectiveness of communication, is the lack of paragraph breaks.
