I would recommend to start off on something small. If you don't even know how to ride a motorcycle, get something small, light, and cheap. Then after you get your license (EVERYONE on a bike should have their class M license!), and you get comfortable being in traffic, move up to something bigger. Most people will say, oh just get a 600 right away you'll be fine. Not a good idea unless you have a LOT of experience under your belt. A great starter bike, is a Ninja 250, if you're into sport bikes. You can probably get a decent used one for $1500 or less, and when it comes time to sell it for an upgrade, it will still be worth that. Just be careful so you don't hurt yourself.

x2, ninja 250 FTW, those things are fun as shit, and are pretty fast as well, up to 80 anyway.

so are u asking about street bikes or REAL bikes(the ones that get dirty)? it would prolly help with the the advice ur looking for

LIFE'S JOURNEY IS NOT TO ARRIVE AT THE GRAVE IN A WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN SIDEWAYS, TOTALLY WORN OUT, SHOUTING ' HOLY SHIT.....WHAT A RIDE'

Ya my bad. I'm meaning street bikes. Sport bikes to be more accurate.

                Thanks Trei and Grr.

I was just gunna hop right to the big shit, but now that you mention it, I would prolly end up dead rofl. I've never driven a motorcycle, but really would like to learn how as im sick of driving in a car in the nice summer weather we have.

I mean for christ sakes.. we have 3-4 months of ridable time and the rest is cold as fuck and your in a car anyway.. so why not enjoy it 😉

                Thanks!

Ninja 500 is also a good choice. You can even go out with someone on a dirt bike or something out in the country and learn to ride that, since its the same controls as a street bike. That's how I learned.

Thanks prelude. Something to keep in mind, but I really don't want to spend that much on a bike I'll be getting rid of soon. I basically need something to learn on and then it's being sold agian.

These damn gas prices are getting horrible.. So I need to start looking more serious now.

                              Thanks for the input guys!
