Ftmfw Fuck The Police
-
They should really be doing this for drunk drivers. All they get are slaps on the wrist and some fines. This is blown way outta proportion. Police FTL!
-
^^^ i know right... like how many ppl die each year from drunk driving vs. street racing... haha i bet that would piss those cops off if you brought that up to them...
-
well i looked it up... and acording to the nhtsa in 2001 there were 135 fatal crashes in 2001 involving street racing.
http://www.nhra.com/streetlegal/stats.htmland then acording to the nhtsa again in 2006 there was 13,990(yes that is correct) deaths involving drunk driving..
http://www.madd.org/stats/0,1056,1112,00.htmlnow with this said, how in the fuck do they think they are doing the "right" thing by destroying these ppl's cars? and the drunk fucks just get fined/jail time... which guess what? the street racers also get... it is like saying racing on a road is worse then driving impaired?
what message is being sent to ppl here?
13,990>135..... i'm i the only one seeing a "slight" difference in the amount of related deaths...:drunken_smilie:

Truthfully how many american muscle cars are going to be crushed. Prolly none. How many of there cars have stolen parts on them? Prolly not as many but there are some. The tuner scene is really being singled out on this one because they can stick it to the people that are already down. They aren't going crush some dudes ferrari because he was street racing, but the day that happens is the day hell freezes over.
-
There trying to make examples of them, which is pure BS if you ask me. Crushing a car a car that they know damn well the owner put many hours and dollars to modify to his/her taste. Sounds like somebodies up for relection soon if you ask me.
Somebody should actually write a letter to them stating the facts mentioned above and ask them, WTF. I'm guessing if they crushed drunk drivers cars there would be quite a few city officials having to get new cars quite frequently, then again, the tax payers would just pay for them anyways. -
"That's my girlfriend, the love of my life. The cops can crush my car, but they can't crush my memories."
hahah! What a homo!
The tuner scene is being singled out because they are the ones being dumb. The guys with the American muscle cars are not racing down busy freeways during rushhour or being dumb about it. I am not saying that muscle car guys don't street race, as everyone will race someone from stoplight to stoplight. The guys that are getting busted and having their cars crushed must have been pretty stupid to get caught like that or have been chronic offenders.
-
Ive seen plenty of domestic muscle cars zipping through town. Its not just a tuner thing. Said YELLOW GTO! Im not going to go as far as to say that all muscle cars owners do this but there are some and to say its just the tuners guys is ridiculous.
One of the guys said he got pulled over for a dead taillight and they made him pop the hood and he thought he had a legit tranny which he didn't. Crushing cars for that reason is straight up bullshit. No doubt about it. CMK how pissed would you be if you had a stolen supercharger(that you didnt know was hot) on your car and the cops were like ok this car is going to the crusher?
-
yea i'm pretty sure some one needs to say something.... and if they tried to crush one of my cars for street racing, i would be in bringing this to the masses... as in calling the news papers and stations and leting ppl know just how dumb this sounds...
and the fact that they say it is "because" of the deaths. um what about the drunks... well my friends dad got a dui and guess what he paid a shit ton of fines and got a suspended licence... so i'm thinking the conciquinces should be switched around, don't you think...

All I am saying is that it is usually the ricers that are the ones being stupid when they are racing.
As far as parts being stolen, that sucks but it is ultimately the responsibility of the person buying the parts to make sure that they are not stolen. Crushing a car for having stolen parts may or may not be too extreme, I cannot give you my opinion on it without having both sides of the story.
Remember guys, we are only hearing one side of the story here. These guys having their cars seized and destroyed are probably not first time offenders. You have to get both sides of the story before you can understand it.

That is way overkill for punishment for street racing. I understand that it is dangerous but crushing someones car? Even if it had parts that were supposedly stolen they should just impound the car until they can plead their case. I wish they would crack that whip on drunk drivers. Seems like the drunks do get a slap on the wrist compared to a car crushing.
-
California loves to crush cars, anyone remember the early 90's when they were crushing American Classics simply because they didn't comply w/ CARB regulations and the owners couldn't afford to upgrade their cars? California is a bit extreme IMHO.
-
I was considering moving to cali in a couple years, now im a little worried, not that i really street race or anything, but damn that is extreme. And yea, thats BS that drunk driving is way less punishment but they know that "racers" are in love with their cars where drunk drivers would typically only be mad about losing the value of the vehicle, not the actual vehicle.

California is the retarded cousin of the US. Elects a horrible actor/body builder as governator. Houses 90% of Americas hippies and now crushes cars for, in my opinion, stupid reasoning.

It was a shitcan state long before they elected the Governator...
Also how am I, a Mustang owner, the first person to point this out in the article...
He had purchased a B-20 Vtech engine with a double-overhead cam a couple months before, and after a police investigation, was told it was stolen.
I do agree with Drifter, they should switch punishments for street racing vs drunk driving. Drunks get their vehicle crushed, racers get huge fines.
-
Most of those cars were crushed for STOLEN parts, one for street racing.

"He had purchased a B-20 Vtech engine with a double-overhead cam"
Lovin' it.
