Anyone ever been cited for this?

Then ask what people who are victims of theft are supposed to do when they need to go somewhere but don't have the actual plastic license. im not arguing that its a bullshit law, but the point is that he didnt have it on him at the time of being pulled over, i dont care if he was 50 feet or 500 miles away from his house, a law is a law, even if it is a bullshit one.... i know people that have been pulled over with out their license and said they were someone else because they ahd a warrant out for there arrest... and they got away because the cop believed him.... its a law for a reason.... :icon_rendeer: -
it should alwalys be enforced but at his own house when hes already there, i am almost positive if it was ever a decent cop they would probally let you go get it, i take it it was a young guy consdiering my experience i have had with young cops in Fargo

Just so everyone knows, if you ever get cited for "No Drivers License in Possesion" the court WILL throw it out as long as you have a valid driver's license when you go to court....the law is written that way. Oh well, court was at 8:30 and I was out the door with my money by 8:50 even after the officer's testimony.

Too bad they make you waste time by going to court on their terms. If it was MN you'd just have to present proof at the courthouse/police station within 14 days and not even worry about appearing in court.

The judge said that I should not have ever had to pay the fine or go to court. The citation should have been thrown out when I presented my valid license.

Ahh well I'd press charges against the city for emotional trauma and lost wages due to having to leave work to pay the fine and appear in court due to lack of officer cooperation and witholding information...or whatever else I can think of in my mind that sounds cool but has no legal standing.
