I think too many people thought that and didn't enter their "nice" rides when it was open to everyone.

Really? Wheels, springs/coils, tint, body kit, performance parts, ICE...........I could spend $15K pretty easy on that stuff.

I could do a full JDM conversion to my car, painted and everything for 10k, which includes like coilovers, and other stuff.

There was a thread awhile back from a TM member saying that ANY car could enter, it wasn't just meant to be a "make a shitty car nice" contest.

Damn, I should've enterd the accord, of coarse everybody would've though it was a civic and not voted any ways, oh well.

Any body know if there's plans for another contest next year? It sounds like this one went over really well.

                  Cyril Figgis: Call girl!

                    +1

I am pretty sure there are plenty of people that would love to spend 15,000 on their brand new cars and would have ZERO problem doing so tastefully if they had the money.

Congrats to the owner of the RX8

Maybe a few body pieces and stuff...what do u consider full JDM conversion...as the motor alone would probably cost half that.

                                    Cost is $3300 + shipping....

The JDM front end for the 4 door Si isn't that much money. Reason being is that the CTR from Japan has the same front end as the Acura CSX in Canada. So if you source out the fenders, hood, front bumper, fog lights, headlights and cha ching you have the "JDM" front end.

                                    "JDM" CTR
                                    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rsportscars.com/foto/11/typerjdm07_01.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.allhabit.com/thread-120276-1-1.html&h=768&w=1024&sz=66&hl=en&start=13&um=1&tbnid=NOT5QaoqRBgglM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3D2007%2BJDM%2BCTR%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN

                                    "Canadian CSX"
                                    http://driving.canada.com/07photo/acura/csx4dr-premiumnavi.jpg

The list of parts are (taken from a guy that did the conversion):

                                    "1. HOOD
                                    a) hood insulator (it comes with it's own clips)
                                    b) L + R headlight seals ... those are rubber pieces that attatch to the left and right corners of the hood where it meets the headlight
                                    c) ur warning lables that go under the hood

                                    1. L + R FENDERS
                                      a) L + R bumper brackets ... those attatch to the fenders. You need those because this is what the bumper attatches to at the back corner of the headlights/ front corner of the fenders... you will need to reuse the 1 screw on each side that's on the stock bumper brackets (or u can get new ones)

                                    2. BUMPER

                                    3. GRILL ... mugen or stock jdm civic / csx crill ... if using csx / jdm grill u'll need a few extra mounting clips for where it attatched to the top of the bumper... i think 3 but i'm not soo sure since i'm using a mugen grill.

                                    4. RADIATOR COVER/COWL
                                      a) extra mounting clips as this one uses 3 extra clips ... part # 91505-S9A-003

                                    5. L + R HEADLIGHTS
                                      a) L + R headlight brackets ... those are needed to attatch the headlights to the frame as well as to attatch the bumper to the bottom of the headlights.
                                      B) 4 extra bulbs ... can't remember the bulb number but u'll want those bulbs + sockets ... 2 of these bulbs are ur park lights so u may want those or else u won't have park lights ... the other 2 are city lights which just look cool when ur headlights are on ... u have to wire them into ur harness accordingly.
                                      i) the park ones get wired into ur turn signals via 2 wires... so they light up when u stock park lights are on but they don't blink ... they are basically side markers.
ii) the city lights get wired into ur low beam ...

                                    6. FOG LIGHTS

you will have to reuse ur stock screws/bolts. they are all the same.
all 10mm bolts with the exception + 2 philips screws for the bumper brackets + 2 philips screws that attatch the bumper at the corners
side item ... u'd have to remove ur wipers and u need a 17mm socket for that

That's everything you will need for a perfect conversion without any missing pieces and a perfect fit ... no modifications of any kind. 100% bolt/snap on."

Congrats to the RX8 owner, and I assure you, this thing is gonna be amazing when it is done.... Less than 2 weeks and counting until the unveiling!

The JDM front end for the 4 door Si isn't that much money. Reason being is that the CTR from Japan has the same front end as the Acura CSX in Canada. So if you source out the fenders, hood, front bumper, fog lights, headlights and cha ching you have the "JDM" front end.

Full JDM conversion to me means also the motor, interior, rest of the body panels, etc....otherwise it's a JDM front end conversion...i'm guessing that's not even RHD either

Ok, the front and rear end conversion would cost around 10k with 5k left over you could get a good start on the interior.
