NEXT PROBLEM: Alternator
-
MY civics alternator is not spinning, the belt just slips and burns. with a wrench I can turn the bolt that holds the pulley, and therefor the pulley, but it will take me forever to grind the rust off, I looked at taking the alterantor out, the bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket wont come out, and you cant remove the braket without removing the alternator . . . I now hate honda engine bays.
What are other options? could I spray something in there? Should I just go nuts with a cutoff wheel?
Anyone?
-
come on colin it isn't "that" hard to take off the alternator.... haha i would say loosen the top bolt, then use a pry bar to move it away from the braket. then remove the bottom bolt.
if you need help give me a call...
-
haha... it is just rusted solid.... well it that case... get a bigger hammer
-
can you just unbolt the bottom bracket from the block?

if honda's didnt rust, their resale value would never decrease. its god's way of giving the other car companies a fair chance...
quoted for truth....

The resale value of hondas decreasing is the only reason all the ricer idiots buy them: cheap to buy cheap to mod. (this next bit excludes the s2k and NSX, also some of the higher end integras) anyone with the desire to have a truly trackable/dragable/race car will not buy a honda and buy something worth modding.

^^ well also true.... hondas are built very cheaply which is why i'm moving away from them....:duh:

Cuz everyone knows that all subarus are trackable, dragable, race cars.....
