Show Cars.
-
I know what your saying, my XB stays parked almost all the time, it sux.....but im to scared to take it anywhere with the worries of vandalism or theft or just carelessness. It does suck paying car payments to have the car just sittin around collecting dust though.........................
-
you would love to know that someone in town has a bently flying spur just chillen in a garage then.
I am starting to let my car sit away more now. I have garage space, I have more "driveable" cars that are way easier to drive, dont attract unwanted attenion........ and high performance cars require high performance maintance. someday my car will look pretty(stuff done right and near show quality, but i will beat the living shit out of it at the same time)

g's up show cars down. i hate spending money to even get my car washed let alone umpteen thousand dollars on paint and DUBS. function over form.

So what's wrong with wanting to keep a nice car NICE. What's wrong with taking pride in your car and wanting to keep it in tip top shape both mechanically AND visually. To sit there and rant about someone else taking care of their car and wanting to show it off is just assenine. I got a big can of SHUT THE FUCK UP you can havea big heaping spoonfull out of. When that person or persons that shows their cars actually does something to THREATEN you then rant. I spend a good amount of time keeping my car clean and pretty. So now am I not the very person this is aimed at? How about 99.9% of the guys that had their cars at any car show locally? Is that also who this is aimed at? EAT ASS!!!!!

do you drive your car on the streets or on a daily basis? yes? then i dont think this is aimed at you. i too like to keep my car looking nice and well maintained but to dump "assenine" amounts of money to have a car that only looks good 10-20 hours out of the year when its parked at a show seems like a waste to some. i am one of those people. props to all the guys with rockin show cars that are fun to check out at the shows and even occasionally do make it out for a drive. im sure they take just as much pride looking at their car as i do driving mine. but to each their own, i will drive mine home and hit every puddle on the way back.

do you drive your car the streets or on a daily basis?Nope. In fact, I've put 10 miles on it since P10 and 30 miles for the month prior. I have had that car for three years and haven't put more than 10 k in that time. It's a chosen hobby. No different than being big into collecting guns and spending hours cleaning and detailing them. Hell it's no different than buying a house and wanting to keep it in tip top shape. You are constantly cleaning it. The only difference is that you dont take your house to a show. You want to protect your investment. I certainly see no problem with it. Who are you or anybody else to pass judgement on someone for that.

I still take my XB out for ricer meets does that count lol

Personally I would never build a strict show car, I believe in function over form too. Im building my car for performance, but will also do some stuff to make it so it's show quality (not body kits or stereo and stuff, just some body and interior, going for a clean look, and hopefully lots of jdm goodies). But, no matter how nice it ends up, i'm going to beat the shit out of it on the tracks and streets. Even though I would never do it personally I enjoy looking at them and appreiciate all the time, work, and money they put into them. For example Tony's S2000, that car is amazing, has to be my favorite show car, and well basically my favorite car period. Some others are Aj's civic and shane's xb, however they are driven on cruises and such, but the time, money and workmanship put into them turned out amazing. I look at it this way to each his own...some people like show cars some people like performance cars, but when it all comes down to it we're all enthusiasts either way, and we should all share our passion for cars and not sit and hate on each other.

No different than being big into collecting guns and spending hours cleaning and detailing them.I can definately relate to that...we have a large amount of collector guns that have never been shot and never will, they just sit in the gun safe and occasionally get taken out and cleaned or shown to people. However there is a small difference, they are more like the old muscle cars...never get used but are more of an investment. Most of said guns have at least double and a lot have more than quadroupled in price over the past couple years, like muscle cars have. Hell, I know someone back home that has stuff from $100k to over $1 million per gun, that never get used and just sit there...Most show cars from today will never get back how much has been put into them, but everyone knows that going into it, and spend money on something they enjoy, just like everyone else prob spends money on stuff that they'll never get it back but it's enjoyable to them.

Ya...it's amazing, pretty baller when u have $10k guns stacked up like they're nothing...do u know if he's even driven the supra in the past few years...never seen it on the road, just the shelby and the prowler. If the supra has been on the road this year, I haven't seen it. The Shelby for that matter. However there's an A/C Cobra replica rollin around lately and I wouldn't be a bit suprised if it was his. FUCKER!!!

Who are you or anybody else to pass judgement on someone for that.do you still live in your house or is for the strict purpose of making sure it stays clean? to buy a house and keep it MINT is one thing but your comparing it to paying 200k for painting it 3 tone Kandy pearl and never living in cause you dont wanna damage the "mint jdm interior". theres nothing wrong with having a nice car and not driving it i never passed judgment other than saying that its not for ME. putting that much money into a car is usually not a very wise investment cuase you will maybe find ONE person many years down the road that will give a third what you paid for it. its purely for yours and others visual enjoyment. <u>BUT</u> if thats what youre into PROPS. im not trying to argue about whos right or wrong with investing money in show cars, just to most people, cars are for driving... I LOVE SHOW CARS! HIN WAS AWESOME lol
