Hell it's no different than buying a house and wanting to keep it in tip top shape. You are constantly cleaning it.Except most people don't drop six figures on a car and then live in it.
Speaking of people who have car that just sit in there garage, isn't there some guy in the Fargo area that bought a ferrari a few years and had it put in his garage by a forklift, to keep the mileage as low as possible, never to be driven again. I think I heard that somewhere. It's like seeing a wild tiger or panther in a cage, it's a beast the should be let loose but instead they've stolen it's dignity and keep it locked up. That's why I like to the oldschool ferraris, porsches, lambos, ect, for example. when they have all the scratches, scrapes and rock chips on them from doing what they were intended to do, drive. It gives them a history, character and an identity with plenty of stories to tell.
I guess you could say the old school car with all it flaws and blemishes from living an exciting and adventurous life is like the old man down the block that everybody respects and tells great stories of the gold ol' days.
While the new car with little to no miles that just sits in the garage is like some lazy ass teenager who won't get off his ass and even try to find a job and thus has nothing worthwhile to tell or passon, basicaly useless.Imagine if people used the same logic on there kids as they did there show cars. "No, the baby can never leave the house, or the special padded room for the matter. He could get a cut or scratch and then he'll be.....(dundundun)DAMAGED!". Yes this is an extreme example but if you think about it, Baby = mental damage from being locked up his whole life and Car = physical/mechanical damage over a long period of time, just because it's not moving doesn't mean you don't have to maintain it. So, in short, not letting them out can be worse than letting them out.
Because knowing is half the battle. -
I've put more miles on my Subaru in 2 months than I have put on the integra in 3 years but it's not a show car.

(or really a car for that matter)

Woohooo...I must have an absolute show car then.....~20 miles on it since P10 2006, less than 2000 in the past 2 years....oh well, there is always next year...

You guys seriously need to get a grip. To worry about someone wanting to keep their car clean and nice and away from the general public. There has to be more important things to worry about instead of such trivial shit. I'm done wasting anymore bandwidth on this thread. Some people just want to bitch for just that, to bitch.

Some ppl take this shit way to seriously.......

Like some of you already said, its there money they can do whatever they want to do with they car, keep it in a garage or drive the piss out of it. I like to drive my car but honestly this past summer I might of put about 500 miles on it and thats it, It would just sit in my garage and collect dust, and this upcoming summer I dont think Im going to drive it at all, Im going to put it in my garage and look at it and say to myself, that I built this car, and I love starring at it. I might start it up every so often but nothing more. This probably doesnt make any sense to some of you, but to me it does.

Makes perfect sense to me Evan.

YOu guys are right they can do whatever thay want to with their car but its stupid to build a really nice car, which I previously stated is a mode of transportation, and let it sit unused. But it's really no more stupid than driving a non-fuel efficient car when there are plenty of more efficient cars on the road? Why don't we all own a Toyota Prius/Echo? Oh yeah, free will.

Oh yeah, free will.I've always hated those hybrid cars. Supposedly there is a big orange wire that runs through the entire body of that car and if you get in an accident and that severs, your pretty much more friend than a batch of french fries. AS for the whole show car thing, I wouldn't neccessarily lock something like an import up, but if it were a super car, Supras that have over 1500+ hp, Vipers, Ferrari's, some porches and some audi's...Those should be locked up some of the time.
