GM Tranny Problems

I have a 94 Buick LeSabre and today while I was driving it quite driving in reverse, Overdrive and anything other than 1st gear. Anybody have any idea what it could be. It will catch when you accelerate and then as soon as you get off the gas it disengages until you get back up to the revs it supposed to be at for the given speed and then it will catch again. Thought it was low on fluid so I put more Tranny fluid in and it still did the same thing. Also makes a slight "whiring" sound.
