What does this have to do with this thread?...this is the type of shit i wanted to avoid in this thread...if you aren't a Republican (or should I say, if you just want to post something about a democrat somewhere), DON'T POST...is it that hard to understand? This has nothing to do with democrats or anything, i just want to know how many people actually are informed on ALL the candidates and then those who just like to think they know about everyone. So my question was, without looking online, please tell me everyones stand points?

My vote is squarely w/ Ron Paul....even though I don't consider myself a republican, nor do I consider myself liberal....just a little left leaning. If Ron Paul gets the Republican (or a 3rd party) nomination, I will be voting for him.

Ron Paul.
I grew up republican, but in 04 I left the party (or rather, the party left me), and I voted for Badnarik (the Libertarian candidate).
Ron Paul is the most republican of the guys running, in the traditional republican party sense of the word.
The modern (post 50s) republican party was really shaped by the work of Barry Goldwater and William Buckley. It wasn't until the later Reagan years that it got derailed by moral/religious interests, and started to allow for massive spending and foreign policy blunders.
This may be hard to imagine, but Barry Goldwater, architect of the republican / conservative revival was absolutely pro-Gays in the military. His famous quote was "they don't have to BE straight as long as they can shoot straight". He was initially a very strong ally of Reagan (as was Ron Paul.. RP lead the effort to get Reagan nominated) but later strongly criticized Reagan for his misadventures in Iran, Nicaragua, etc, and his massive spending on SDI.
Anyway, after the first GWB term, I stopped considering myself a republican. If Ron Paul gets the nomination, it will represent the republican party coming back to me, not the other way around.

Without looking anything up online, Please, tell me the standing points and key issues to each campaign. Doubt you know without looking it up...I'll have to admit that I'm a bit ignorant about the finer differentiating points of the other candidates. In my view, there's Ron Paul, and then there's everyone else, and everyone else is indistinguishable from each other, and from all of the Dems. The republicrats and the democans are all the same.
I guess if I were to imagine the talking points of each of the parties, I'd write them something like this:
Democrats; wrote:
You'll get socialized health care and higher taxes, whether you want it or not. Our way is best. All Republicans Except Ron Paul wrote:
We promise we wont raise taxes or give you socialized health care, but then later we'll break our promises like we always do. You want to be safe, right? That means it's ok to break promises, please try and understand.Ron Paul wrote:
I will cut the fat out of this bloated, corrupt government, peice by wasteful peice, and give you back the Freedoms that your fathers and grandfathers died trying to secure, and that these other assholes have been pissing on and pimping out to their monied interests for the last 50 years.I'll give you back the money that is rightfully yours, and I'll do my best to put a stop to the fact that nearly every American has to spend from January until May of every year, just to pay for the huge tab the government sends them, all for goods and services most of them don't even want. I'll change the fact that in most 2-income households, the second income earners entire wages go JUST to federal taxes.
I won't let the government continue to demand that our finest men and women die in some place many of us cannot find on a map. I won't let the government ask you to have a national ID card that you carry at all times. I won't let them spy on your phone calls, I won't let them detain you without filing charges, and I won't let them lock you up for no reason at all.
Once upon a time, practices like these were common enough, and unacceptable enough, that we waged and won a war to ensure that we'd never have to put up with them again. Yet this government abuse and curtailment of our natural rights is exactly what has returned to us in the last several years.
I'm asking you for another revolution. We can do it in 2008 with the ballot box. Or, we can put it off, and elect another round of the same crooks that have been perpetrating these crimes on you. But when the next revolution does finally come, we won't be able to do it with the soap box, or the ballot box.
Once again, we'll need the ammo box.
Hopefully, they won't have revoked that hard-won freedom as well
As near as I can tell, nobody else "Gets it" like Ron Paul does.

The horribly liberal biased TV media?I find this quote funny. Coming from the left side of the aisle, I honestly feel that the media is more right leaning than left leaning as of late (Except CNN, they are WAAAAAAAY left.....and Fox News is WAAAAAAAY right leaning)

My views on the main networks:

I'm not saying that each of the networks don't have some liberal views...and in some cases some extremely liberal views on some of their shows, however it seems (to me) that all of the networks are starting to shift right. Notice I never said this was a bad thing, I do think it needed to happen.

Hahah I wish. It's a monologue I made up for the purposes of the post. I don't think Ron Paul would be so.. crude if he were making a speech. I can't imagine him addressing a convention and saying "these other assholes"

I do think it's all within the spirit of his message though -- and the stuff I mentioned is in his platform.
