09 Eclipse

They are worse because there is no potential for them to be fast like their predecessors.
Speaking of the three gouges in each door...I wonder if anyone has ever filled them in with bondo. I'm willing to bet it would DRAMATICALLY improve the side view of the car.

Goddamn I love that color.
3gs are my least favorite Eclipse, but they're still not that bad. Greg's car is hot as hell, so it's not impossible to make them look nice.
Too bad they probably won't make another AWD turbo Eclipse as long as Evos are so readily available to buy new.

OTE=kylush;207561] I think 90% of the civics I see are ugly too but I respect a nicely done cari agree most civics i see are piles of shit they put on some apc parts and l.e.d. washers then weld on a fartcan rollin on steelies and they think its cool and fast., yeah and everyone and their grandma owns a civic. i try and keep mine clean with no ugly big wing and cheap ricer parts. the best car on page 2 is mark's car the blue one from here no ugly ass bodykit , plus he is cool shit from the times i have talked to him, and he could kick my ass. the rest of those cars would not even get a second look at a big carshow. show me ONE 3g that is just sick looking, one that is all out custom or clean looking., then ill shut the fuck up but until then im gonna keep talking shit and pointing out the uglyness of the 3g.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, Mark is cool shit. His car is pretty badass too. What do you mean by all out custom? All the body kits on the market for the 3g make em look ugly as hell imo and take away from the look of the car, aside from the wings west lip kit, which is pretty sweet and adds a nice little touch.
I've never seen your civic, but it does look pretty nice. Since I've gone to school in fargo I think i've seen some of the nicest hondas I have ever seen. All the ones back home are complete and utter ricey piles of shit. I don't really care I guess if you like my car or not, I like it, and I've gotten compliments on it from other people some of them not even car guys, just saying that it looks nice and clean and whatever...
I've actually considered buying a honda before, but I just like doing something different, I know my car is far from being the best platform to modify and whatever, but I like it, and everyone and their brother isn't doing it, so that makes it cool to me.

Saying the 3g is less reliable then the older dsm's is just not true.
As far as them not having the potential to be fast, they arn't the best platform and probably don't have the potential of a honda, but they also don't have the aftermarket support of hondas cause not as many people are modifying them.
Kewl thing about the 4g64 is the block is very similar to the 4g63. Some evo guys actually swap the 4g64 crank into their motors when doing stroker builtds. This also means the head from the evo can be swapped onto the 4g64, along with forged internals and you'd have esentially a stroked evo motor with a little bigger bore. Turbo manifolds from dsms and evos can be swapped onto the 4g64, they make forged pistons and rods for them. The evo ecu, and standalones for the evo can be used in them........ This is just for the 4banger models of course, i don't know too much about the v6's.
The 4g64 can hold its own with a little boost. I mean....... this guy on a site that i frequent ran a 12.8 with a completely stock 4g64 he pulled out of a junkyard for like 400 bucks, a standalone, and a gt3582r....

Fastforward threw the first part of this, the 12.8 run isn't on there, but theres still some fairly quick runs.
http://stage6.divx.com/user/xull1x/video/1570591/cayuga-2007Theres also some on there of him racing a viper and stuff.... He's a real good tuner, so not everyones prolly gonna be able to do that, but my point is, its a decent motor.
This guy has a pretty sweet setup too...
http://www.club3g.com/forum/rs-gs/91211-mods-2007-a.htmlanother cool build thats going on......
http://www.club3g.com/forum/rs-gs/105173-winter-2007-2008-progress-56k-warning.htmlI could go on, but nogaf anyways, my point is that they can be decently fast if you know anything about them and know what you're doing. Sure they're always gonna be fwd and not gonna be no awd dsm, or lightass honda, but they can be decent.
Also, regarding the smooth doors, I've seen people fill em in with bondo, and i've seen people replace them with stratus doors, which bolt right on, some people like it, but it looks gayer then aids in my opinion cause it makes the vents and turn signals really stick out and look outa place
Heres another vid of one hangin with a roush mustang just for good measure

My opinions..... the car is wrong wheel drive, under powered and ugly...just the the 3g and 4g before it.
-
ok this car is clean looking. i just skimmed through the pics and didnt really pay attention to how they were put together. i guess the only big problem i have with them are the 3 things on the door i still havent seen anyone with them shaved off, then the car may look alot better. and yes all of the kit they make for the 3g's are way too ricer some some look futuristic, but he lip kit does look nice on them. -

That should give you an idea of what they look like, the first one would look better if the door was the right color . I just don't think it looks right with them removed with the stock bumper....
Maybe an aftermarket bumper would look better with the smooth doors?
-
FAIL!...totally fugly...looks like mitsu fails at the eclipse again...as much as I hate dsm's the only decent car they made was the 1g awd....the rest are either fugly and/or dont have a real platform under them like the original had (cept the breaking all the time, lol)..

^^^ ok the orange one look very nice the molding of the doors makes it look way better. the bomex bumper helps with the roundness, and the only body kit that looks descent on the car. ok ill shut up now!!haha, funny i usually hate the bomex kit, but at the same time thats one of my favorite 3g's ive ever seen......... i think it's just that the bomex looks terrible with those door ridges, but better with them smoothed out, some of the other kits would probably look better with the smooth doors too

wow the front looks like a poor man's GT-R
well the Eclipse needed a boost in the right direction
now about the AWD.... -
i remembr reading something like 2 years ago about how they had a gsx prototype with the drivetrain of the evo of that year, but it must of never went to paper
