Not only is that Toyota ugly, I have seen one in action and was unimpressed. I have yet to drive one but I have driven a few of the new F150's and the build quality of the interior is top notch. Reliability i don't know and I'm too lazy to check, but driving that truck is like driving a cadillac. Its freaking quiet in there, and the ride is pretty good, for a truck. Honda missed the mark with the Ridgeline, but found a niche market, the Raider will die a quick death as i have yet to see one on the road, the Titan is a great truck no complaints save for the looks those trucks are fugly. So for that matter are the new Chevy's Dodge's, and Ford's. The Ford is by far the best looking one and its still kinda ugly. Chevrolet's new trucks are ugly, but the Tahoes, Suburbans, and Avalanches look OK I'm not sure why. Same thing with the Pathfinder Armada, must be the way the lines flow or something. Aside from being ugly the Toyota nearly shook itself to pieces during a torture test I saw, I can't remember where tho.

I like the truck. I see nothing wrong with getting one that has the most power.

One question though. Why do you need a truck for your new job?

I am sure toyota has a good product,............ goes with the name doesn't it??

The one thing i know is that Ford's advertising is such a fucking joke it makes me laugh..........

Ford had a disaster with the 6.0 PSD and are headed for it again with the 6.4

I don't like the looks of them, but I am sure they are awesome trucks. If I was going to buy a new truck I think it would be a GMC. I don't like the look of the Chevy's and am biased against Ford and definitely would never buy a dodge unless it was a diesel.

Looks are all subjective. I really like the look of the new Tundra, as well as the new Fords. I don't care for the Chevy much, the Dodge is ok looking as is the Titan.

You guys acutally like the new fords?? Holy shit, how many of you have even driven one? My sister has a 05 F-150 crew cab (i live with her, so i drive it alot) and honestly, i cant even stand to be in that thing.
It has by far the cheapest, ugliest, and most uncomfortable interior on the planet. Ive driven 70s ford pickups that were waaay more comfortable than that thing.
In reality, if i drive to fergus (30 miles) my back and neck already hurt when i get out.
Not to mention if you look out the side mirror going down the highway it looks like the box is going to fall off, it moves around that much.
The kids (oldest one is 6) think its uncomfortable, and its too tall to get into.
I cant reach into the box for a beer because the sides are fuckin huge.
It is fuckin ugly as sin
Cant haul a god-damn thing, the box is so small its worthless. And the fact its a bitch to get anything in it, cause you have to lift it 4.5 feet in the air.
Oh, and it gets 15mpg on a really really good day. Driving in town, it gets 8-9, interstate it gets 14, maybe 15 with a tailwind.
To take a head off of a POS ford overhead cam motor, did you know they designed it so that you have to remove the cab??? WTF! also it takes like 6 hours or something. I can pull the heads on a chevy pickup in 2 hours, easy. Hell i did a cam swap in under 4 hours, thats unreal.

Enough of my rant on ford trucks, let me tell you something. My dad just bought another Avalanche. Its his 3rd one. He had a 02, with the 5.3 and 3.73 gears. Put 75k on that truck and it would usually get 16mpg. I got 13mpg pulling a 8000lb pickup on a trailer down the interstate from the middle of SD. Never got worse than 12mpg with it, and that was pulling 35,000lbs with it from willmar to Breck (farm implement) at 40mph.
Last year he got a brand new one. Bright orange, 20" 5-spoke rims, 5.3 with 4.10 gears. That was a damn nice pickup. Put 40k on it, and it rode very nice. Comfortable as hell, i can drive it all day without getting sore, and looked killer. BTW, you can put 8 foot long stuff in them, and still close the tailgate. With his new job, he pulled a 20k lb implement around for a couple weeks for testing, and also a lare square baler. He put on about 2500 miles pulling those things, and still averaged 12.5mpg. It would regularly get 17mpg on a 520mile tank, and at 54mph it would get get between 21-23mpg
Last month, he got another new one, cause he needed a bit more power for pulling those implements. So he got the same orange, 20" rims, but with leather. Under the hood, Vortec Max baby, 6.0L, 368hp, 4.10 gears, locker, and air ride. Holy shit this thing hauls ass. BTW, just by doing a tune in these motors they put out about 410hp, and thats getting done next week. With the 4.10s, acceleration is unreal, it puts about 4 trucklengths on a 5.3 chevy, and 5 on a 5.4 ford, and has a very nice sound. It gets the same milage in town as the 5.3, but an average 2mpg better on the highway.
So, if you havent driven a new avalanche, you should. And after living with one for 5 years, most people would be fuckin retarded to buy a regular pickup over one of these things. The bins in the bedsides are also very handy, we keep the receivers and ropes/straps in them. Also the fact the box is sealed, lockable storage is nice.

My .02 I love the tundra. It is the nicest truck I have ever driven. I went to corwin just to check it out and I spent about 2 hours with a sales guy going over the truck. The interior is by far the best I have ever seen on in a truck. Who cares about the interior. Well, it's where you spend 99 percent of your time with the truck so its pretty damned important. I find that domestics suffer from 'fisher-price' interiors, plasticy, parts bin kind of stuff that looks and feels cheap, not something I would pay upwards of 40 grand for. As for towing and stuff.. I don't know, I'm not a truck guy but I saw a Tundra in moorhead towing another tundra on a trailer and the rear was squatting pretty bad.. I don't think it's supposed to do that ?.. ?

A 1/2 ton can do a decent job of towing, but you guys who are towing those huge loads around regularly would be better off getting a 3/4 ton truck. I pull my trailer (6700lb or so) with my 1/2 ton dodge. With stock rear shocks the thing would bottom out over minor bumps and was fairly scary to drive. I put on those shocks with the helper coil springs built in now and that helps a lot but the thing still wasn't made to do what it's doing. It takes forever to get up to speed and even longer to get slowed back down. It is now stable enough going down the highway that I can relax a bit. Every time I have to pull my trailer I wish that I had bought a 3/4 ton.

Dave makes a good point. If you want a "truck" to tow the big loads and haul the mail then a 3/4 ton or 1 ton is the truck to get. Now then take a look see at what manufacturer offers those. Hmmm.....don't think Toyota offers 3/4 ton or the 1 ton. Honda doesn't either. I guess that just leaves us with those crappy domestics. 😉

Well...they don't make one yet....Nissan has a turbo diesel in the works allegedly, and Toyota has leaked that they will have a 3/4 ton in their 09 lineup w/ rumors that it will be diesel as well.

it kinda seems like you are comparing apples to oranges, this truck can tow this much, this truck is this comfortable, this truck beats this one in a race. I think for what Chuck bought his truck for, light hauling, movin the fam around, lookin good the Tundra prolly is the best choice. Yea 1/2 isnt the best for hauling the world, but like you said, if you are gonna be pulling like that, you shouldn't have bought a 1/2 ton truck. If i recall correctly, Ford actually won 4wheelers truck of the year, but that is based on offroading and whatnot, there wasnt even a test for towing...

How ironic coming from the guy that put a Toyota motor in his domestic...
