That's pretty cool I guess. Glad to see the depot being used for something again. It seems to have problems keeping businesses there. I guess I wasn't paying attention. The last bike I bought and still have I bought from IPC, i've had it for 5 years and it was 4 years old when I bought it. I have problems riding bike, along with running, and walking long distances because of a fucked up left ankle (childhood hockey injury), so I don't bike much, and subsequently, I am a chubby bastard. You should see me run, it's hilarious, my left foot points inward when I lift it so I have to keep from tripping over myself.

I work in the Service Shop over at Scheels, the salesmen that have been working for a while are all big road bikers. So if your looking to get a road bike talk to Jacob, Matt, or Andrew they really know their road bikes. For the best we have in Mt. Bikes talk to Aaron in the service shop, Curt in the service shop knows his stuff too, but Aaron has been riding Mt. Bikes since birth. He's done lots of pro biking in Australia. For BMX bikes talk to either Aaron again or Dave in the shop. Dave's like 16 or so but damn does he know his bikes.

Since you asked who sells bikes I figure I'd point you to the best Scheels has to offer as far as information and setting you up on the right bike. Randy over at Paramount is a big Mt. Biker and BMX rider and really knows his stuff too.

Through dealing with customers and bikers, I've heard that IPC really lacks customer service. They have good bikes, but no one there really is trying that hard to sell to anyone. Maybe since we are catching the people who give up on IPC we are only hearing bad. All it would take is one bad salesmen.

If you ever need a tube changed or a kickstand put on... i could rock that. Beyond that I'd want to point you to someone who knows his stuff better.

(I purposely tried to comment on all 3 retailers in Fargo, since Scheels is what i know that got the most indepth coverage. I dont know if this will get deleted for trying to whore Scheels... i know some people dont like it there)

Island Park has always been easy to work with for me. I haven't been to Scheels since shortly after I bought my bike like 4 years ago but they treated me pretty well too.

Does Paramount have much left? I was going to go over there to look for a bike too but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I was with my buddy (who is big into road and mountain biking) looking at bikes there last year and one of the sales guys was a complete and total douche. I wouldn't buy a bike there if they payed me to take it.

I thought there was a place moving into the old "Great Northern" restaurant downtown, could have been mistaken though.

What kind of bike are you looking for dubbsy?

Somewhere between a hybrid and road (either end considered as well).

I'm thinking I may just go pick up the Trek that's on sale at Scheels. Price is right and I'll see if I put enough miles on that to convince myself to go straight road bike.

Paramount has some stuff left. I found one there I really liked but for the pros/cons between the two I'm looking at right now, I'd rather go $70 cheaper at Scheels.

well FWIW, went with Scheels. It'll be a decent bike to get started again. If I find myself putting the miles on it I'll look at closeout road bikes this fall (or the mid-year sell-off I hear happens)

Wasn't exactly what I wanted, but the price was right.

There was one guy in there the first time I went to look at bikes that I didn't like. Guy I bought the bike from was decent as were some of the older guys I talked to.

How tall are you? I might know of some more than decent used by Pro/1/2 riders for road bikes. IF you decide to go that route you should let me know.

If you don't mind a little dirt, we do some biking right behind our apartments. It's nothing spectacular but if I only have a little bit of time it beats hauling ass down to the river for some change of terrain.
