      You want an Audi 🙂

B5 A4s (96-01) are showing up in this area for under $5k now, manual transmission, AWD. Newer years are more money of course.

.... hor much does it cost to fix them suckers. And where can you bring it. Because, I will not step foot in Valley Imports.

        PM me for:

        Diesel repairs or performance products.

When I don't DIY, i roll over to Sportscar Engineering in moorhead. They've worked on 2 of my Audi's and my wife's VW (which is an Audi with less bling.. >50% of the car has the 4 rings logo on it).

Valley has done 2 things for me since I lived here:

            • "free" 5000 mile 1st service on my A4
            • VWoA LATCH anchor retrofit on my wife's Passat.

They managed to screw up both things.

That said, I buy lots of parts through them.

The only really spendy job on an Audi is a timing belt. You'll pay about $1k for a shop to do it. Doing it yourself and just paying for special tool rental and new parts / consumables is still about a $250-300 proposition.

Coil pack and K03 turbine failures on the 1.8T engines are areas to watch out for. That said, they're well made cars and pretty stout in the winter, and pretty great as DDs. Comfy, fast enough, quiet, good handling. The 1.8T is a good platform for modding as well.

A 98ish A4 wagon, 1.8T, 5 speed stick, would be a pretty kick ass winter car and daily driver.

well, turboes is one problem that does not consern me. If you even need one for your cars, lmk.

              I love the audi's my aunt has a 06 S4 convert.

If you know of anything for sale, LMK.

I know I looked at a 02 Jetta yest. price was 2 much for what I like in that car.

there are a few on autotrader. Also, http://www.ap-specialties.com/ in minneapolis specializes in used Audis and i know one of the guys that works there. Absolutely die hard enthusiast and had an Audi running E85 on megasquirt 🙂

Personally I'd get an older AWD audi than a newer FWD Jetta.
