trying amsoil

well, i finally decided to try amsoil for this year's oil change. i'm using 0w-20 and hoping for some reasonable gains.
does anyone else have experience with amsoil? i tried being a dealer a few years ago, but there wasn't a lot of interest around here
at this point, my only complaint is that it's expensive, almost $10/qt 
if amsoil's claims of superior lubrication are true and i gain even 10% mileage, the extra cost will be worth it (assuming my 5000+/- miles average). -
$10 a qt? where the hell are you buying your amsoil?
shouldnt be any more than $6 or $7 depending on where your getting it.

the only place i could find 0w-20, berg automotive.
i'll grant that 10% sounds like a lot, but it is very little. i average 24mpg between city and highway on 91 octane ethanol-free fuel. if this change gets me to 26 or 27, i'll save about $70 per year (assuming my average is 5k miles @ 24mpg and $3.5/gal).

I have a hard time believing that you can get a 10% gain in mileage from the oil alone. You will subconsciously drive nicer and easier to get better mileage.
Now one must take into account the increased cost of the oil to determine whether or not it is worth the added cost.

too late now, only experimenting will telldid you read my entire post with the links? i explained the cost savings.
i already drive gingerly, so i'm going to be interested to see what kind of mileage i achieve. my last tank was 24.3mpg with a few full-throttle jaunts and approximately equal in-town and 55mph driving

I've been using it for years and have been adequately satisfied with their results. In years past, my car was sponsored by them so I got free oil and such. With Amsoils oil and oil filtration bypass kit, there is a good chance that you may never need to change your oil...just send it in once a year for analysis.
I will be switching my Camry Hybrid to it on the next oil change as well.
Will you get 10%? I don't know...probably not, but I don't buy motor oil for MPG improvements, I use it to lubricate the motor and reduce wear.

i do like to take care of my engine, but i'm also interested in efficiency. i read a little about the bypass kit and analysis... perhaps four years ago. i can't remember why i didn't do anything with the information. i'll take a gander and i'm sure it will all come back to me
