includes confiscating all previously banned weapons purchased after 1994
it's been referred to the Judiciary. Oddly enough, a guy calling himself a republican is who authored/presented the bill, and has a few other republican co-sponsors.
I hope this goes nowhere.

There will be tons of citizens who really will tell the politicians to fuck off and pry them outta their cold, dead hands if/when this does pass. Mitt Romney also signed off on a permanent assault weapons ban in 2004 as Governor of Massachusetts http://www.iberkshires.com/story.php?story_id=14812; McCain has said that he was "open to voting for an assault weapon ban, depending on the details" as was reported in the LA Times in 1999 http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/5701.
So, for all of you voting for McCain because he won't support an AWB, perhaps you should investigate it a little more. Seems like the right is just as open to it as the left is.....
