    The BIR Performance school is actually quite good. I really like the short track layout, as I've got a low powered car so it suits me better.

    The track is the same from turn 2 through turn 8 entry, but out of 7 you stay to the far left edge of the track (or at least, I do) and stay all the way to the far outside edge until half way around the hairpin, at which point you can almost straightline towards the apex of 9 and then towards the bridgestone sign on the new wall to setup for turn 10.

    I was able to take 10 and 11 flat out once i found a good line out of 8, and a bit of a "no confidence yet" lift at turn in for 9 (you are pointing at a concrete wall and getting your outside tire within a couple feet of it)

    The pricing on the BIR school is fantastic. Its around $270 and i was on the track from about lunch time til 5:30 with NO interruptions except to put more gas in the car and for a few black-flag sessions while they cleaned up after a few messes.

    They do group discounts with 5 or more people.

    A BMW school is stpread out over 2 days, costs more like $300, and you are broken into run groups where you sort of cycle on-track / off-track over the course of the weekend. I think with the BIR school you certainly get more track-time density, if not more actual track time.

    I need to do some development work on the car before I go back. I get oil starvation in the 9-10-11 complex and I cannot take T2 any faster than 110 before the rear gets squirrly.. even on R comps.

            When I was up there. I noticed that cars were not taking 2 as fast as they did when I ran the long course.

            110 is pretty good for turn 2. What kind of tires do you have?

                I was running yoko A032 hards, 205 wide on 15" wheels. I bought them (and the Kosen K1's they're mounted on) from a fellow BMW club member used.. they had like 8 days on them when i got them so there's very little of the cross-hatch tread pattern left. This would be my 3rd track day on them.

                I don't think 110 is "that" fast since i could always do it at 100+ on street tires in my M5.. and was doing in the very high 90s if not 100 mph in that car in the rain. (unless my memory is way off).

                I think there is a problem with my suspension setup. The issue is that towards the apex of T2 the pavement has so many bumps and seams in it... the rear starts moving around more than i want it to and it feels very similar to the way it does coming out of 4 or 6 just before it breaks away (and i get to catch it). I suspect that the stiffness of my springs is partly to blame but i'm running a matched spring set front and rear. i've got a bunch of polyurethane in the back that the front doesn't have but there's not all that much rubber compliance in the front suspension design to begin with... just the lollipop bushings on the control arms...and perhaps the strut mounts

                I don't want to be lame and run downforce on the car if its really a mechanical grip issue.
