.....that green spyder is pretty nice a guy in Kindred used to own it.. -
I thought that's kinda why people buy insurance? I know I have coverage if someone else drives my car once in a great moon and gets into an accident...oh well. Kinda ridiculous now that you have to pay for that and get nothing out of the deal. Money thrown away.

For instance, I could drive Dave's Supra and total it. My insurance would cover it for the book value.
If I total my car, my insurance would cover it for its value b/c I have it appraised higher than the book value.
If Dave totals my car... well I think I'd be screwed

well guys, im a good friend of heath's and he told me that i should put the whole story of crashing the camaro on here. so here it goes....
It all started when he was @ work. He was going to drive to another job site when the owner of the z28 (fyi: this car was totalled 2 weeks prior to the accident and the kid bought it back for $800) asks him if he wants to drive the car. Of course, he accepted. Also, the owner of the car is in the passenger seat. Then, while turning a corner the z28 (being rwd) starts to slide out and then heath "panicked" and hit the brakes which caused the front of the car to stop and the rear of the car sliding sideways and then SMASH. He hit a lightpole. Both of the guys get out of the car and look @ the damage. Heath takes the car off of the pole and just parks it on the street and goes back to the scene because some neighbors saw the accident. One man asks for money for his mail box, which also got hit, and Heath then pays him. At this time the kid who owns the car says he has to go and he is the ONE that drives the car away from the scene of the accident. Heath, meanwhile, is talking to one of the neighbor ladies and she tells him to leave and she'll report it later. Beings that this lady was older than he was, he listened to what she said...plus a guy from work was driving by and could give heath a ride. So then Heath left the scene WITHOUT driving the car away. Anywayz, a cop calls in a couple days and just reems Heath out for everything. He says the the pole needs to be paid for and to the cop it should have been a 50/50 spit for the cost (if insurance wasn't used). The cop said he was in no way involved in getting the car fixed and that the pole was his only responsibility. Now is when insurance should be used, but the kid that owns the car didn't want to go through his insurance because they would basically drop him because of his record already. So Heath tried doin this kid a favor by not goin through insurance. The two families met to discuss the matter and basically nothing was accomplished. The next day Heath's boss threatens to take away business from his dad's company if Heath doesn't pay for ALL of the car AND the pole...Heath didn't have any quick money to give the kid so he gave him his Talon (fwd, auto, turbo, white) that he had just bought the week before. Basically Heath gave this kid his Talon for a TOTALED slowmaro...furthermore, he got a $1700 bill for the light pole...Yes, this situation is very unique and very wrong...If Heath's boss wouldn't have gotten his ass in this the situation wouldn't be nearly as bad. That is the whole situation so everybody now knows why Heath had to get rid of his Talon. Any specific questions just post and I will answer them to the best of my ability (if there are any questions). I however will not disclose any names (must protect other's privacy, if they choose to have their name on here, thats fine, but I don't want to place any names on here without prior approval. Thanks for understanding everybody and hope to see you on the streets. Later.

yeah, no shit, all he hit was one of those small light poles...like one of the ones on 8th street...its like how can somthin that small be worth $1700...its like who paid that $1700 in the first place...THE TAXPAYERS...also, yes, it is true that what that boss did was wrong, but heath is on his own $ wise and his boss is basically a millionaire...so he could basically just buy his way out of it...i also do think that there might be somthing illegal about it also, but if they file charges or anything, Heath's boss would pull his business away from Heath's dad which isn't a thing the family needs...its basically just a HUGE mess. Also, to boot, his dad GROUNDED him for 2 months...he cant use the phone, watch tv, or even leave the house cept for school and football...its like house arrest or somthin...
