From a retailers stand point I can tell you this. Rota has a solid place in the market, and especially in the Subaru scene. Their wheels are knock offs, heavier, cast, and less expensive. I have owned 2 sets, and have sold probably 50 sets and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. The finish lasts, I have NEVER warrantied a single wheel, and they hold their value if taken care off. I have read articles on the internet that claim a wheel failed. I am sure it has happened, but I am sure that every cast wheel has had a few failures. Just like Ferrari has more than likely had a car that never worked right from the start.

I would buy another set of Rotas, I will continue to sell Rotas, and I will continue to have great success with Rota...

sidenote: Look at 80% of the brands affordable to the 'average' tuner. What wheels aren't knock offs?

I'd take new Rota's over used old school Volks anyday.

    My $.02

Not trying to push anyone's buttons, but I never understood why STi owners ditch the factory BBS wheels for Rotas. Seems like a downgrade, if you ask me.

Typically STi owners buy Rota's for winter wheels, if they ditch the BBS's for their 'everyday wheels', then I would agree with your statement.

Maybe it's just the STi owners down here then, haha.

Hahahaha, I'm one of the few running ones around here so I'm not as retarded as the rest of them. 😛

I think everyone back up there got spoiled by Eric's 240. Examples like that are a true rarity since most of them are complete piles. Since I've been home, I've only seen two that are on the level his was.

also some owners ditch the bbs for a much more aggressive stance by getting very wide wheels. Rota makes wheels for subarus that are 8.5 to 9 plus inches wide. If you go on Nasioc you can see that over half of all owners on there are running rotas. You will also see that no one is having any problems with them either. Rota is a very good wheel maker. Not everyone can afford forged wheels nor do they need forged wheels.

My honest oppinion about rota? i like them. i had like..3 different sets on my old coupe, and only got compliments about them. now would i buy a set for the evo?? probably not. but only because i in the market for a 17x9.5 or 10 and ridiculous off set.

otherwise i probably would. but every body is to their own.

Every wheel has a break/bend point. Just like anything else metal. If you plan to track your car, and really push the car's limits, I would recommend a better wheel than a Rota. Even the best wheels fail under extreme abuse. This is NOT from an accident.

Here is a thread on NASIOC that shows some pretty cool Rota fitments that were mentioned previously in this thread by Rexwagon.

yes, i know. theres a white suby around here that is slammed on rota g force (i think??) and it looks hot. but i cant find i set that i like in that size with the right offset.

i was exagerating when i said ridiculous, i think i need something like a +12 with a 17x9.5. but im not 100% on that so i could be way off...

rota's are good for 90% of ppl out there, because most ppl never really pushes there cars. so why do they need $2k set of wheels to go be BA at the cruises? they don't so thats where the cheap wheels come into play.

now this pool has 2 bad choices.

                                          1. there not exactly weak but then again there not forged volks, so you decide if there stregth or lack there of, is enough to take what you will put them though..

                                          2. no there not as durable as "everything else" out there, thats why there super cheap.
