This is my introduction thread

Well I've been part of this board for a while, but I had a different sn (mr.98gsx), but I can't seem to remember the password and I've sold my dsm and bought a different car anyways. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by making a new account. Anyways...
Hi I'm Brian. I'm 21 and I recently sold my 98 eclipse gsx and purchased my Suby 2.5RS. I've owned this car for less than a month and it's already been somewhat of an adventure. I'm told this color is supposed to be pretty rare, but to be honest, idk if I'm a fan of the color really, oh well $4200 seemed like a good deal. After I picked the car up I drove about 40 miles and decided to go slide around a snowy parking lot while I waited for my buddy to meet up with me. I wasn't going crazy by any means, but somehow i managed to kill my car
. Well, I was super ticked when the car died since I just sold my dsm for something I thought was gunna be reliable. The next day I had the car towed to a shop to get it checked out.

The guy at the shop said he thought it was the timing belt and quoted me $1200 to fix that along with the pulleys. I gladly declined his offer to fix the car and called up the guy who sold it to me. Luckily, the guy who sold me the car is a Suby mechanic and we agreed that he would fix the car at the price of parts (which is 10% over cost
). Well 2 weeks later he had the car done (he could only work on it after hours which was why it took longer than expected). Turns out my idle pulley managed to lock up causing my timing belt to skip a few teath which resulted in 4 bent valves. Well my total price came to a whopping $480 for both head gaskets replaced, timing belt, new plugs, more gaskets replaced, and all the fluids changed. I got a steal I know! I threw the guy $600 for everything and drove the car back to school. I've finally got around to snapin a few quick pics so here they are.

The car is bone stock right now, and I plan to leave it that way until this motor goes. Like most of the suby guys, I plan to swap it once I'm outa school and have a more steady income. I've already purchased a scangauge II and a set of 500 Hellas that will be goin in soon. My plans for this car are still sorta up in the air. I'll more than likely hit up the suspension mods and get that done while I "wait" for this motor to go.
Anyways, I look forward to continuing to meet more of you guys!

Thanks for all the kind welcomes guys.
Just for kicks n giggles, this is the my dsm I just sold a few weeks ago. I haven't had it in fargo too often, but you may have seen it.

The plan is, in a few years to have the subie just as "clean" looking in the next couple of years. Like I said though, I'm not planning on even trying to make this motor fast. I see very little hope in making na motors quick.

I remember that car. Bad ass....(for a DSM)lol thanks. With a nice set of coilovers and a sweet set of wheels, maybe a v5/v6 front bumper, the subie might be as "badass." Right now the subie just looks so ug idk, lacking aggressiveness

I think you are crazy Brian, that thing is sharp. I do so love a nice green car, the wheels make cringe, but just a little.
Welcome... again? Not a fan of the goldies? They're actually just the stock wheels. I'm thinkin about all black wheels for summer but idk.

A swap....Yup, I mentioned that earlier in the thread. I just don't wanna do the swap till I'm outa school and have a more steady income. If I swap it, I'm gunna have to go sti over wrx just because if I'm gunna drop that much money I might as well spend the little extra and get the more powerful motor.
