I had an R*SR cat-back for EX and it sounded damn decent and it was only $300 but I think that was only a one-time deal.

Overnight ship it.
In reality I think your best bet at an exhaust would be to go through SLS and have them fabricate you one up.

How much would something like that cost?

Just do a muffler-^ I like that guy haha
Mufflers can be had with a 2.5inch inlet for under $50, you can have a muffler show weld it on for under $30.
She already said she's just looking for a nice sound... getting larger piping from the cat back isn't going to do much for the sound, perhaps a little deeper, but its a honda!
the muffler will do you fine

I suggest having SLS put one together for you as well... pricing will be very nice compared to what you would pay for a comporable "name brand" unit, and his quality will be just as good. I'm sure he'll chime in here anytime or pm you with what it would cost for him to fab one up for you.

what is the facination with those anyway?
So a question, if you put a magnaflow on a honda does it still sound like a weed eater on drugs?
I've always wondered if that 'sound' was your only option or if that's just what was 'cool'.... -
i think that's just what is going to come from an aluminum block 4cyl. because aluminum is lighter, it produces a brighter sound as opposed to the iron block 4g63 that sounds darker. however, at high rpms (and thus, high airflow) every engine will sound like a weedeater.
but... when an engine is turbocharged, the sound from the engine is muffled into a grumbly sound. i think the heavier mufflers create a lower sound, but i'm not possitive, that's just an educated guess. -
first of all i think someone should tell you cat-back isn't a brand.
second my g/f has a magnaflow muffler with 2.25" piping from the cat back on her civic. it has a buzz when you rev it but when you drive it, i was actually impressed with how low it was. that is on 1.6 liter, i would assume on a 2.2 it would even be lower?

i had a magnaflow on my old car and i like the way that sounded. I had 2.25 inch pipe and a muffler, and it sounded nice and somewhat loud
