What Recession?
-
Bite the bullet and get a job at less than $13/hr. Just because you lost a job at $13/hr doesn't mean you can't get one at $7/hr. I don't know what you learned with your high school education, but 7 > 0. If it's as bad as you claim then you will take what you can get, but you are still looking for jobs based on pay or is it "what I want to do?" all the while blaming the economy and the recession on your lack of a job when any fucking idiot can go into mcdonalds and get hired on the spot. If bills need to get paid then you will do what needs to be done to get them paid.
I lost my job at a shop when the corporation that owned the property shut us down back in August/September. I spent one week looking for jobs based on pay/the field/"want to do it" qualifications, after that I said fuck it bills have to get paid and within a week I got a job for less pay than I wanted doing something that I didn't want to do. I put up with the bullshit for 4 months before I walked out. When I walked out I didn't have shit lined up, within a week I was working for a company in my field for more than I was making at the original shop.
Quit bitching and get a fucking job already, it isn't the economy's fault you are sitting at home all day.

Why don't you find that shitty job NOW, work there while you still have money(so maybe you don't need as many hours, or aren't working from a hole). Also, if you end up hating it, you're not desperate so you can look for a better job while still working there.
Trust me, don't wait until your money runs out to take a lower paying job. It's a waste of time and your saved money(which is far more important in most cases than what you "make").

im just trying to avoid this shitty job situation. I dont care who you are nobody wants to go back to working fast food or whatever after having a good job.Dude, you worked at DMI. Thats dirtier than any fast food or car wash job. Get over yourself and work something that will hire you. This is the path of life you chose, and it's known in the production industry there will be lots of turnover and looking for work. Now, if you had a B.S. or masters in something, I could sympathize with you a bit more, which is what Will was pointing out(in a sense).
I will say this, when you go work at a place like Dons or McDonalds, for that $7/hr you probably do 15 mins of work an hour. Compare that to the quotas and shit at DMI.

You're a damn bum if you are holding out for 13/hr as a 19 year old with a HS diploma. Most kids that are a year away from a degree that should be netting 60k+ a year are happy to have a 14/15$ per hour internship. You, with no diploma in sight, should be happy you even had a job paying 13/hr to begin with.

I got laid off from DMI also but i got a job one week later. Going from $13 to $9+comm really sucks. You just gotta do the best you can right now and take what you can.
Hey BP! You worked at daves welding? How long have you been unemployed from there? I just finished the mig course there on the 6th. I decided to take some welding training after i got laid off from DMI.

In the end, if you live in Fargo, you're a bitch
