The problem right now with the Republican party is that they lack a likable leader who is both conservative and saneHmmm and yet the democrats have a radical as a leader......... yep, Id rather stick to the leaderless party where i can think for myself, and not have to follow the messiah

Any thoughts on this? Seems like quite a few people on this site haven't even heard about it. I would have thought a rally of this size would have been news. I just heard a interview with ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson, and he said he hasn't heard of it. Yeah right.
DaveH;288080 wrote:
... why do you suppose this huge rally didn't get any major coverage by the left-stream media? If Cindy Sheehan would have organized 25 people and farted in front of the Whitehouse when Bush was in office, every single media outlet would have been there discussing the texture and aroma of the fart. -
It's all over left wing talk radio. Mostly arguing that there is no way that there were the 1.7 million people that Beck claims there were there and is more than likely closer to the 60 - 70,000 people that the fire department estimates were in attendance (since they likely know the maximum occupancy of the area, etc, etc, and they say you couldn't pack more than 150,000 in there if you tried).
I'll give you that even if it is only 70,000 people, that is still a large number and should be given at least some coverage.

Yes, the Republicans are easily winning the "Cable News Race" but just because they are winning doesn't mean they are always right. You could have the most factual person in the world on a tv show, but if he is not entertaining, he is not going to get ratings. If he is not controversial he is not going to get ratings. If that is a liberal comment, so be it, but it is also truth. Also remember that not everyone who watches those shows agrees with them. I watch Beck because I think he is funny and love watching him dig himself into bigger and bigger holes and get exposed for the hack he is. I also watch to get the other side from more sensible guys like O'Reilly, whom I agree with quite a bit.

BECK: Oh, he is — you know, this might come as a surprise to a lot of listeners or viewers, but I am — I blend in the rap crowd.
you guys better rethink your glen beck affair after that one. you wouldnt want us to think that its ok for white people to be interested in african american culture or anything
BECK: I'm going to come clean with you, Bill. I have no idea who the hell this guy even is.
oh, nm. glen beck has no idea who Jay-z is. all IS right in the world after all.

You are proving my point, nobody listens to left wing talk radio. :icon_albino:
FYI, please check facts again. Beck has not made a claim on the attendance, he specifically said he wasn't going to. Where do you get this crap? Left wing radio?

You say you watch Beck, but it's pretty clear you don't if you consider him a Republican. OReilly isn't a Repub. Baier and Shep I don't know about, I don't really see them injecting politics onto their shows. They seem to be more of a news show rather than commentary.

Beck identifies himself as a republican.....so I was just giving him the common respect to love him for who he is and who he wants to be.

Was this directed at me Parker? If I do a copy/paste (like everyone else does as well) I try to give credit where it is due. Do I forget from time to time, absolutely. Do I care? Not really. Have I copy/pasted at all in this thread? No, aside from web addresses and a youtube video.
I'm not sure where Dave was planning on "schooling" me in here as we agree on most of the topic (that the March on Washington should have gotten more coverage). I guess he and I differ on opinion on who republican news show hosts are (Primarily O'Reilly and Beck) and then there was the matter where I had to school Dave about what Beck actually did say about attendance numbers :icon_cheers:
I guess he did school me in regard to who was behind the March on Washington....Beck takes a lot of credit for it, hence the reason I assumed it was partially his deal.
