                      Is there something you are going to put between the back lift of the topper and the tailgate? I guess I would consider that ~5" opening to be a deal breaker for 'deterring thieves'. Along with the issue of snow/ice buildup inside...

                        The topper covers the tailgate up by 1 inch regularly so its about a 3 inch opening. Nothing that I Have in my Bed can fit through it(only Shovels and a snow blower). I will see if the ice/snow becomes a problem, if so, I will address it.
