it was me! GRRRRR, the laptop said 'danger to fuel system', but I slammed it closed, and continued to try and tune off the BOV sound.

You should have let off the throttle when you noticed the passenger floorboard coming loose...

It happened so fast. Tuning while everything is blurry is hard. That's why I use the tone of my BOV to know when to give it more fuel.

hmmmm, I think you are doing it wrong, the BOV sound means you are suppose to lean it out to make more power.

Found out who the owner was. It was not on fire. Not sure on exact problem, it had some sort of massive oil leak or explosion on the top side of the engine.

                      Nope.

The car is pretty heavily modded. He was driving it back home before he got shipped off to Kosovo or somewhere over there....

My guess is possibly the oil feed line for the turbo. I have heard about this sort of thing happening on people that have replaced/upgraded turbos. People bend the line to get it out of the way instead of removing it.
