DD ideas?

if the point is just to commute, get a diesel jetta or Golf. You will get stupid good mileage. Think just under 50mpg highway. Put proper snow tires on it in the winter.
It won't be anywhere near as fun as a subaru but will get much, much better mileage. Additionally, for doing boring driving on the interstate back and forth, a subie isn't going to be any better or safer than a FWD car.

03 Mercury Marauder. Oh wait that's what I want for a DD. My impala gets 36ish on the highway, plenty of room, and the 3.8 will last as long as any subaru will. Its just a pretty boring car.right.........:icon_scratch:

right.........:icon_scratch:Actually, I don't think he's far off. GM V6's sip gas at freeway speeds. My Grand Prix got in the 30s if I drove under 80, and high 20s if I was at 80-100mph. My old Malibu also got 30-35 pretty much no matter what speed I was at. In town they were both pretty thirsty tho.

Its usually a little less but on the highway always over 30.
