H22 swaps are relatively cheap actually. However if you want to get ghetto with that F22, purchase yourself a 1 or 2g dsm exhaust manifold, drill out the end holes and boom there you go. Turbo manifold for an F22. 😉

Hey Nick, out of curiousity what are the possibilities of custom fabricating an applicible turbo setup for an Acura NSX? Should it be even done? Is the engine quite capable...just wondering out of curiousity.

P.S I should be out of the hospital early friday morning and if I'm up for it I'll be driving if not I'm going to let Rob drive my car.

I didnt think of using a DSM manifold.....sometime down the road, when i get some spare cash, i really want to turbo my car....you dont think it would be totally expensive to custom fabricate my car with a turbo kit, using that manifold? I dont want to do something totally insane.....just enough boost to bring my car up to, or past, 200 HP.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

How much do you think for the manifold and turbo?.....i dont have many funds right now so it may be a while before i even think about starting to buy parts...so i guess im wondering how long you'll be holding on to it.....but nothing is wrong with the turbo right?....i mean the only thing id be skeptical about is buying a used turbo.....nothing against you just personal thing.

If anybody could give me some more advice on this project (parts needed, fabrication ETC.) Any input would be cool.

Um. Don't junkyard turbo it. Do it the right way, the first time. We've all cheaped out at one time, and regretted it. Honestly, if you bought it all piece by piece, its not expensive to do it right! And putting a 13b on your car is all but pointless....

i can't say that i agree with jim on this matter; all cars run on used parts, it's just a matter of finding parts that you trust. if you can find a 2g or evo manifold, those flow better than the 1g's. and i wouldn't use the 13b because it is quite small and would spool way too fast with your bigger engine. you would want something like a 16g at least
on a similar note, i have a 1g manifold that i will have for a long time because no one has really been interested in it, especially since 2g manifolds aren't exactly rare. i think the place you'll run into the most confusion is how your ecu will handle boost... there are a variety of options there. make sure you have everything planned out before you start buying.
good luck, you started out the right way by asking for help before doing anything :thumb:

Used turbo's = Shady.... I don't think I will ever buy a used turbo again (thats bigger then factory)...

Turboing a NA engine isn't just bolting some shit up, it's pretty invovled. You'll need to do alot of research EXACTLY the parts you'll need.

Fuel System - Injectors, VAFC (or SAFC), poss. a FMU, Fuel Pump

Turbo, Manifold, Wastegate. The trouble with buying a turbo such as a 13b or anything of the sort that came off of a factory turbo car, is that your going to be running to much boost with the internal wastegate. And, no, a boost controller doesn't turn down the boost.

Intercooler, Piping, Oil Lines, Misc. Fittings, FCD, all sorts gaskets, etc...

I seem to remember somebody trying a junkyard turbo kit....if im not mistaken he gave up and had jim sell the parts he gathered on ebay.

Getcher green hat, we are goin fishin.

customization is usually pretty cheap, the knowledge of how to do such, is what is worth its weight in gold
