i do agree that they werent playing that well but the calls just werent going our way...it wasnt just that one...and they knew it was a goal they didnt even play the damn replay cause it would upset us too much even tho the WHOLE xcel center was booing...whatever another moorhead gets screwed

There are 2 things that have to occur for the ref to make that call...

First, the offensive player needs to make contact with the puck, which he didn't. Ref made a mistake on this one, but that happens frequently...

Second, the puck needs to be higher than the top crossbar (4ft) and it wasn't anywhere close to that.

Even if he thought Cory Johnson hit the puck, his stick and puck were so far from 4ft off the ice, it shouldn't have been called

Moorhead has 3 kids who will Get drafted for the NHL (Lee Top 20 , Fisher 101, Vandavelde top 60)

Vandy kicked every ones ass on the ice last night. Vandy, IMO, is right next to lee in my mind. He killed it last night. Anyways, whenever we get to state, moorhead chokes. Somethings gotta be wrong other than just the players. I mean, No matter whos on the team we choke. WTF is up with morrinville. maybe its not him but whatever it is, it needs to change. We wont have another year like this one for a long time. We got a cold goalie (varsity wise) coming in next year that played one varsity game this year. Were losing 15 fricken kids. most of our top players. Interesting to see what next year brings although it doesnt look promising.

you know, I understand why you guys are upset w/ that call, but you lost by 2 goals, not one. I'm not saying that might not have swayed momentum but all other things being equal you would have still lost. I wish Moorhead would have won, they had a great team. Unfortunately whining isn't gonna change anything. And, unfortunately the ref made the call that he thought he saw. He doesn't have instant replay to fall back on. He went w/ what he thought it was and unfortunately it was the wrong call. Anyone thats ever refed a game knows that you're gonna make a bad call now and then, it sucks that it happened @ this level on that important of a shot, I know. Also, its very hard to win hockey games giving up 6 goals (ok, so the last one came at the last second from what I can gather, but 5 is a lot too.)

I feel for you guys and your team. I've watched Harvey fail several times @ the state football championship...several times w/ a perfect record going in. Fortunately I got to see them win once in all those attempts. Moorheads time will come, just because you lose a few players from year to year doesn't mean that there won't be others willing to step up. Once a school gets a taste of championship level sports they tend to maintain that level of competiveness for quite some time. Good luck to the Spuds Hockey program, and heres to good success in the future.

yeah weve been in the championship game like 6 times...been to state 5yrs in a row and 10times overall...weve had a taste of championship sports more than a few times...the 6th goal was empty net so therefore the net would not have been empty if that goal would have counted...and they scored on the face off in our zone so it basically was a huge swing in the momentum and the game

Dude Moorheads coach is the reason they made it that far, and he was the reason our 2001 team made it as far as we did.

Actually they also had a goal they possibly shouldnt have had, delayed penalty. Our goalie had posession which should have stopped play but they kept it going and pushed him into the goal and it counted as a goal for them. That would have made it a tie game. And we might have won because we wouldnt have pulled our goalie and they would have had 1 less goal.

I realized that the final goal was in the final seconds on an open net as I was typing (did more research). Yeah, it sucks, no doubt. But what can ya do?

Corry Johnson's goal was fucking bullshit. The ref refuses to use instant replay, yet they used it earlier that day in class A.

yeah, oh well nothing can be done now, but after seeing all that happened and the calls that should have been and shouldnt have been called, it should have been a TIE at least, and possibly a moorhead win. Now i realize that we were playing shitty, the worst we've played all year i bet, but more things should have happend then did.

Yeah it was interesting watching lee play in the the world juniors, well sorta play. I know the kid is good, very good, but we never got to see him out there with ovechkin, or tha canadian god crosby. Thank god for season tickets. Definately looking foreword to this next season if he comes here, is he not going to juniors for sure??
