Cable One Internet

they dont charge any more here when they are the only company over what they charge else where around the country...cableone is owned by comcast...i do agree they overcharge for the amount of programming they offer on cable...up until the last few days i have had hardly any problems with the internet or cable service...and plus it is the fastest in town

I agree that I would still use CableOne over any other.
I've had Qwest 1.5mbps DSL, I've had Monet Wireless, I've tried cable in other cities and places.
I get consistant 4.5mbps (450k per second) with Cableone. Is there a small amount of latency which slows down regular webpages? Yeah, it was better on DSL, but I don't think I could go back to downloading files at 150k per second, it just seems so damn slow.
In other cities, it's the same deal, the shits slower and generally costs the same or more.

did they up the 3000k to 4500k? we've always had the fastest home internet service cableone provided and i max out at like 385k downloading.
edit: a couple years ago i had a lot of problems with them. id lose service for a half hour or an hour at least 3 or 4 times a week. then it never happened again until the other day.

The wireless will only be 1mbps which is too slow right now, plus we get our 3mbps free anyways lol We did the whole cycle routine yesterday but it took 24 hours before the "internet" light went solid which was really gay. It was perfectly timed too. Lastnight we unplugged the cable and plugged it back in after i hooked up my new "server" computer we set up and thats when it went down so i thought that computer might be the problem, being as they have "3 device" limit and we have 6 connected so far so we disconnected that and had to fuck with all the cable wiring running through our house (at least 400+ feet).

Well your getting 3850k then if your dl at 385K.Technically we're not supposed to get those speeds anyway, but it just depends on your neighorhood and such
thats not the right conversion jim...its 8bits to a byte so thats not correct...connection speeds are in bits and data is in bytes...

I've been out over 2 days, finally got back on like 10 minutes ago
I was down for 2 full days as well. Their damn customer support has either been busy or has put me on hold for 15+ minutes to the point where I just hang up because I am calling from a cell phone.
As soon as I get through I will be asking for a discount for those two days... -

I am thinking of doing the same thing...i've been without the interweb for 3 days this week, and it just went down tonight before i went to work also.
