confronting the issue that his car has flaws is fine, but i do not know who said it but someone was talking crap about oddens and saying how he doesnt feel that they're not a good shop or something like that. That pissed me of, look at all the cars they have done: mine, kelleys, diaz, and way more muscle cars and trucks, ect... so when people start saying that kinda stuff about a body shop that i go to and completely trust with my car because the have given me no reason not to, becasuse all the work they have done on my car I am really impressed with, so does that mean people think my car looks bad too? Marks car will look completely awesome when that car comes out of Oddens and if you all want to see it, everyone is more that welcome to come check it out at SCN.That is your problem, you don't read the entire situation before you go and run your mouth!
Point out an example to ME in THIS thread where people were TALKING SMACK. It didn't happen. Get your facts straight.
The only Smack talk has been created by people who DONT READ or MAKE THINGS UP about what's been said.

As for Marks new paint job, yes, it was a nice PAINT job, there were a lot of other things that I thought could have been done better by Oddens (gaps, bumpers not matching up, runs in the clear, overspray, taillight pans not grafted smoothly, etc....) Mark has a very nice looking car, and some of those things can be straightened out yet, but I'm still not sold on Oddens being a quality shop
To me the underlined stuff is talking smack, maybe not to you but to me it is. -

I was makin it to the guy who was totally dissin mark's car, cause from what I know, SLS is all go, no show, but the other groups are both, or just show... Mark has one of the nicest cars right now, same with the S2K and a few others, it's just to what extent, there's an Integra thats Navy blue and has body kit and whatever, my bf is friends with him, it's pretty nice looking.... hey.. Jim, were you drivin a yellow evo earlier this week or so? I think I saw you.....Yes, I was driving the Yellow Evo (joe's car), mines not done.
All Go, No Show... etc...
You guys think there is some huge rivarly that simply doesn't exists. Every shop / store here in town focus on different things, but it doesn't mean things don't overlap from time to time. Seriously, they don't have beef with each other.
Do you realize that PSI2HI, has argueably nicer paint jobs (oh wait, maybe they aren't nice becuase they don't have graphics on the side), on his car then I've ever seen. I don't know, maybe you guys just don't understand what the difference is between paint jobs, but those flaws aren't something you can make up. By the way, I dont' think you realize that they don't just drive POS race cars either

Jim might have been driving my car... i dunno i let a lot of people from SLS drive my car cause i know if something happens to it, they will help me fix it up whenever i need to... like john deere had to help me put a wideband on my car wed. night and it took us awhile and he didn't complain once he's my cream puff aren't ya JOHNSON!!!

dont get pissed cause you know chuck and nick are right...if they are gonna fix marks car then thats fine...but just dont get pissed off when someone else points out flaws in your car at other shows...i do not think that marks car is a big time show car like has been said time and time again...granted its a decent put together car but not a big time show car...whatever
-
Dude you act like if nobody likes any of your cars, its the end of the world. So what if Tjamz isn't sold on it..he's not driving it now is he? You're not driving it. Mark told me the only time hes gonna drive it is when he never will leave it out of his sites IE Cruisin. Why is it that when somebody questions the work of another, there'll always be someone there that has nothin to do with it to think its their problem. Nobody dissed it, nobody said it sucked, in fact there was more positive and "I like it" remarks then there were negative ones.

so him saying that he is not convicned YET is talking smack? wow you must eat some funny cheeri-o's.I would call that expressing an opinion.

Your idea of talking smack is very very different then mine.
To me it would be like:
The car was rushed, the paint and body work has imperfections. Any REAL bodyshop would understand that there are serious flaws, and basically it looks like shit. If they want to make showcars on a national level, they need to ramp up the quality of thier work times 10x.
Now I haven't seen the car, I dont feel that way, but to me, thats what smack talking is. Not what chuck said.

IMO if the car was not ready and they didn't want it nit picked it should have never been @ a "car show" in the first place then. People are going to look @ it and look it @ in detail. If people think by myself and Chuck voicing our opinions on it are jealous thats just ridiculous. Both myself and Chuck could own a vehicle of that status and more there's no doubt. I just definatly would have done things differently before painting. Even on my hatch i pulled all the windows, the motor, all the seals and all the wiring before it was sprayed. Tape lines, overspray, unpainted engine bays, unpainted jams are killers for a nice paint job. Some of these are just things some of us notice.

good call nick, What they gonna say now?

I'm just defednding one of my better friends and my shop, and I do not want to start shit with people, obviously you guys all have different opinions then mine, thats all.
Defending them from what? We dont have any guns or anything. -
it's alright to defend your friends car and shop but when there isn't anything to be defending then it makes no sense to try... oddens might be a good shop but everyone has their own shop they tend to go to more than others... you said oddens is yours, chuck trusts a different shop, everyone has their own tastes they were just explaining the things that they noticed that they would have liked to seen different..
-
damn i guess you 2 beat me too it and we were just stating our opinions or observations...if you are into the show thing and you cant take critique from other people in the sport then how the hell are you gonna have fun at shows? your gonna spend your time freaking out at shows to "defend"

Thing Mark needs to learn is that these things CANNOT be done overnight and he always waits till the last minute then decides he wants it done now. I've done so work for him in the past then he changed his mind last minute and wanted his stereo done next day for the Tintmasters show last year. Well it was rushed worked all night and i will admit, it is far from perfect. You cant rush these kind of jobs but if he wants them done in a rush to make these certain events that he's not gonna get the 100% quality that should be put into it. Simple reason why i will not rush any job like that EVER again and i will not do anymore work from him as he still owes me $486 from that job.
Simple fact, QUALITY CANNOT BE HAD OVERNIGHT!! Expect much less if you want it done in a hurry, end of story!! I am not bashing anyones car anyones work just stating my opinion on what was done @ the time i saw it.

Anytime anything is rushed it will always be half assed. Whether it is motor work, body work, whatever.
Tufte, myself, and a few others learned our lesson the hard way when trying to rush body work. Never again.
