damn i guess you 2 beat me too it and we were just stating our opinions or observations...if you are into the show thing and you cant take critique from other people in the sport then how the hell are you gonna have fun at shows? your gonna spend your time freaking out at shows to "defend"

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Thing Mark needs to learn is that these things CANNOT be done overnight and he always waits till the last minute then decides he wants it done now. I've done so work for him in the past then he changed his mind last minute and wanted his stereo done next day for the Tintmasters show last year. Well it was rushed worked all night and i will admit, it is far from perfect. You cant rush these kind of jobs but if he wants them done in a rush to make these certain events that he's not gonna get the 100% quality that should be put into it. Simple reason why i will not rush any job like that EVER again and i will not do anymore work from him as he still owes me $486 from that job.

Simple fact, QUALITY CANNOT BE HAD OVERNIGHT!! Expect much less if you want it done in a hurry, end of story!! I am not bashing anyones car anyones work just stating my opinion on what was done @ the time i saw it.

Anytime anything is rushed it will always be half assed. Whether it is motor work, body work, whatever.

Tufte, myself, and a few others learned our lesson the hard way when trying to rush body work. Never again.

Yeah, we tried to rush my civic done and just ended up saying fuck it, its only a show. Ended up skipping that one and starting fresh and it turned out a lot better than it ever would have if we woulda rushed for that event. Simply not worth the disaster just to make a local show.

I'll be willing to put my car up for full inspection once its finisherd for criticism on paint/body work, metal fab, and audio/visual setup. Perfection is pretty much unachievable it's who can come the closest to it that counts.

I'm sorry, that was NOT me posting any of the posts under toppers. my dumb ex friend hacked into my account, and I choose to make a new User name and changed my password for this user name... I do know a friend who had troubles, but not sure it was SLS's fault. I told her about it, but she is the one who talked shit. he has a turboed Talon, and he had to get new pistons cause they were messed up bad... I apologize for what she said, and I'm going to talk to her about it, and if I'm able to, delete the posts she made, because she started shit, she doesn't hang out in the car groups, she's just mad cause I do, and I'm friends with some, and she's not. but I apologize for the things she said

I'm not planning on the turbo for awhile, I'm doing other things first, then engine. it's a long process... and if you want to know, his name is Bobby, and I believe he has a 91? Talon, my boyfriend, Bobby, and our friend were taking apart his engine and 2 of his pistons were messed up, so he had to get new ones. the bolts being stripped, might not be SLS's fault, I'm not going to blame them, but my friend who doesn't know them can go ahead and do it, thats her fricken choice, she don't know a damn thing about cars.

I'm sorry if the SLS guys got pissed, but you can get pissed at my ex friend if it's that big of a deal... my real friends, know I wouldn't talk shit like that

As for Marks new paint job, yes, it was a nice PAINT job, there were a lot of other things that I thought could have been done better by Oddens (gaps, bumpers not matching up, runs in the clear, overspray, taillight pans not grafted smoothly, etc....) Mark has a very nice looking car, and some of those things can be straightened out yet, but I'm still not sold on Oddens being a quality shop
To me the underlined stuff is talking smack, maybe not to you but to me it is.

I never said I wasn't talking smack. 😉 Maybe I was a little harsh, I can admit that, but what I should have said is "I'm still not sold on Oddens being a shop capable of building a national show car." I've been saying this since way before I saw Marks car. For the same money (or close to the same) he could have went to Black Magic Customs and had a FLAWLESS job done. Thats just my opinion. Maybe they CAN fix the problems with his car, for Marks sake I hope they do. I have no problems w/ Mark, I've talked w/ him plenty of times and I COMMEND him for being as serious about show as he is (for that matter the entire Ground Assault crew has VERY nice looking cars...yours, tony's, marks, the blue civic, etc....all nice cars). So please don't read into this as me saying I don't like Marks car, cuz I do. I'm just stating that I'm not impressed w/ Oddens.

Edit: I should also note that my car is far from perfect, I have a gap in my front bumper (gotta fix that one of these days....) and a stress mark on the rear bumper from being rear ended (gotta get a new bumper to fix that). And yes, I am more about go than show, but I have seen enough big shows to know what to look for in a car. On a different topic, is Ground Assault gonna be at Devils Run this year? I know Mark has gone the past couple years, it would be good to see you guys there, you'd probably all take home trophies.

I dont mind. IMO opinion criticism is a good thing. I'd rather hear about a problem then have everyone complain about it and not say anything about it. Lets people know what needs to be improved.

I think i know which car you are talking about and on that vehicle it came in blown up and half torn apart. It had the heads of the valve broken off and beating around in the cylinder. If its the same car i believe its coming in next week for us to assemble the motor and put it all back together. I know Bergs did the motor and bored the clearnace small and it was having problem w/ piston to wall clearance so they are redoing it for him as we speak.

I do not have a problem with critisim either it just bothered me a little bit because everybody KEPT on talking about the flaws in his car, and yeah there are a couple witch is why his car is at the shop still, i didnt mean to whore up the thread but i felt that everyone was attacking mark and oddens and i didnt feel that that was right.
