You either have a boost leak, or bad spark plug WIRES.

Check the wires with an ohm meter and make sure they read pretty close to each other, the ones that are longer will have a little more resistance.

BUT, being as the car is dying at idle, I would put my vote on a boost leak.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions i'll check everything out, and also thanks to jim for taking a look, i fixed that one clamp. Tomorrow i think i'll check the rest of the hoses for cracks and see if they are all snug also. Does anyone know what a good gap size would be for NGK BPR6ES when i checked them they were at .035 so i regapped them to .030?

Gap the plugs to .028. If the plugs are old, get new ones, they're cheap, and if the wires are old, just replace them too, that can never hurt. How much boost are you running?

yah, i have it at 11 now but i turned it up to 15 to see if it was any different, but it does the same this at 15. it tends to happen more at WOT or during heavy acceleration. The previous owner said he bought the magnacore wires 3k miles ago, btw are those number ok for resistance? plugs looked fairly new but kind of black if anyone cares to take a look this is my #2 plug before regapping http://myweb.cableone.net/kylebush/sparkbefore.jpg

                        get rid of the magnacores.
                        they are crap.
resistance readings will almost always read good and they can still cause a misfire

you definatly have a boost leak. It happened to me too. I have something to check that with if you have an air compressor.

Well not so sure about those resistance numbers, I find it odd that the one is half the resistance of the highest one. I think when Ive always checked mine they never varied more than .5 ohms.
Also check the boot of the spark plug wires (that go into the valve cover) and make sure there are no pinholes that you can see.

If you are running your coilpack in the stock location, pickup a set of accel 8mm wires from www.jcwhitney.com they are only like $35 there and you can get yellow, red or blue.

Also I would set the gap to .028 like someone else said.
